meteorologist mike masco is in the weather center with the late. >> is that video, you can get it on my facebook. this storm, by the way, producing blizzard snows over the northern plains, about 12, 1300 miles long from the gulf coast states into the northern plains and we're going to have to deal with a part of that. the first beginning stages of showers rolling there maryland, and cloudy temperatures in the 30s. and look up towards the north, manchester, concerned with you buys because we're near freezing so any kind of precip could come down in the form of light freezing drizzle. showers developing f after midnight. 38 waking up with breezy conditions. 45 kelly and jamie turns into the 50s and we have two storms in the 7-day forecast. a whole lot of weather in just a little bit. >>> baltimore was spared of the blizzard but our neighbors up north are cleaning up. >> hundreds of thousands without power at this hour, digging out from 3 feet f -- of snow. and we have a look at how the folks are cleaning up. >> reporter: from shovels to bob cats, efforts are big and small to clear away

for more on the conditions, head out to meteorologist mike masco. mike, you're standing by. >> i would say it's about a 70/30 with 70% falling in the form of rain. you have gropple or sleet. it's wet, not white. that's good us in for the evening rush. we'll droll with slick roadways. that wind map you showed us is telling. all day long it's been an east wind. now we're seeing a northeast wind. look at man clefter, 39 degrees. most of these temperatures in the 40s. high aloft, that's where we're seeing the snow falling. it's getting through the shallow layer of warm air. we expect this storm to have a burst of some snow after 8:00, especially to the north and east. cecil county you will be talking about an inch or so. then it's out of here as we go into the midnight hour going into tomorrow morning. this future clast showing -- future cast showing snowfall projections. the further north and east you head this time from cecil county, wilmington into philadelphia, you will be talking about a 1 to 2-inch snow event. the storm will intensify a little bit

for more, we'll head out to meteorologist mike masco. >> it's cold and whole lot of rain. we're at times seeing a mixture of sleet or gropple. we're getting reports of sleet, flurries near reisterstown. it is snowing but snowing about 1,000 feet above us. it's the snow well above us. but as it falls, it falls in the form of rain. during the course of tonight we will start to see the storm intensify. when this does so it will bring that cold air aloft. it's sitting well above the city. the freezing line drops to ground level. that's when we'll see the changeover to snow. i don't think it's going to be an issue for the evening rush but as that colder air works in around 8:00, i think everybody will see a burst of snow. that's when we'll thinking you'll get a minor accumulation with the snow wrapping up after midnight. we'll show you a quick accumulation map. it's not a big system. if anything, we're calling it a nuisance storm. we'll send it back to you. >> you can always have an upto date forecast in the palm of your hand. download our interactive app. >>> new tonight a bal

let's head out to meteorologist mike masco. >> the winds have died down. the band will come blowing through. certainly a chilly raw evening. that's going to be the deal all the rain moving to the north and east. still a problem over cecil county. clouds will be in place. the winds will pick up. that front is going to hang offshore. watch what happens. that front will dissipate. that area of low pressure will strengthen. the combination between that low around nova scotia and hudson bay will create a wind tunnel effect. it's called a pressure gradient. that will allow for the winds to gust not only tonight but tomorrow afternoon. a lot of questions about the pattern. is it going to snow before the winter is out? it could. we'll see the northern and southern jet tied together. what happens, we've got an pear of low pressure over the gulf coast states that typically runs up the state. yes, suggesting maybe a pattern change before this winter is out. that would be good news for your snow lovers. as it snowed in march, yes. it snowed 7.8 inches. 2008 to 2009, s

for more on conditions on the ground, rain, wind, you name it, we turn it over to mike masco. what are you seeing? >> the rain has stopped but that 44 feels like the 20s and 30s. that wind hits you. the winds will be gusty. it's in the about the temperatures, but the winds. winds really starting to pick up around cincinnati, detroit. that's setting the stage of gusty winds. the deal is a few clouds, showers. watch how the front slips offshore. that low is going to essentially intensify. that is going to create a pressure gradient, high pressure to the south and west. low pressure to the north and east. that will funnel in the cold winds out of canada. the winds will be a big story tomorrow. while our daytime highs will be in the 30s, not bad to around 40 degrees, it will feel like in the 20s much of the night going into tomorrow. the question is can we get in snow out of this upcoming pattern? we'll talk about that at 5:30. it's getting late in the season but we'll explain maybe a couple tricks here and there. we'll send this back in to you. >> thank you, mike. stay dry. the h
