ktvu's mike mibach reports on the 75th anniversary of the hoping of the san francisco bay bridge. >> reporter: the bay bridge at 85 she has aged out so gracefully. >> it's really nice to look at. >> reporter: a wrinkle here, maybe one there, but for 7.5 decades. >> there are curves to it and not just square blocks. she has stood tall over the bay, connecting one community to the next. >> it's a great view from wherever you, look down, looking up, it's just beautiful. >> reporter: the summer 1933, with the great depression underway, that is when it all gab to fake shape. the towers, the cables, the tunnel, one day at a time. >> it took three years and four months to construct. >> reporter: and during that time more than 20 men lost their lives, building what is so high and what is so far and in the eyes of some she may not be as beautiful as the golden gate bridge, but she is strong and she is has endured. 9 million cars traveled across the bridge in its first year and an estimated 200 million traveled across it last year. the bay bridge was hit hard by the loma prieta earthquake that
