received doses on saturday in the u.s. after three straight days of more than one million doses being administered. the panisse's city council will consider reinstating a mask mandate. it is in solano county, the only county not requiring masks in yours in the bay area. -- indoors in the bay area. amy: this city would be going out on its own if it decides to do this and pass this mandate. no other city in solano county has made this move. the delta variant continued to drive up the number of covid cases. it would require masks indoors for everyone including the vaccinated. solano county has not think it's their duty to consider this move for their city residence. >> despite solano county's unwillingness to move in this direction, we have an obligation to try and further protect health and safety. amy: some businesses are already requiring customers to wear masks and they support the mandate saying it would take the burden off of enforcement for business owners. this vote for the mandate is set for tomorrow. kumasi: san jose city employees have to show proof of vaccination and if they cannot they have to submit weekly negative test results. this city is planning to mandate vaccines for all city employees who do not have an exemption at a later data. city officials say the mandate is in line with recommendations from the santa clara county health officials. the reverend jesse jackson and his wife are responding positively to treatments from covid-19 according to their son. the couple is still in the hospital. physicians are carefully monitoring them because they are both in their 70's and both have underlying health conditions. jackson has parkinson's disease and he is fully vaccinated and publicly received his first dose in january. his wife is fully vaccinated as well. >> president biden says his administration might extended deadline for removing american troops from afghanistan. the presidents and military officials will look at whether to stay in the country past the august 31 deadline until evacuations are completed. the militaries evacuated 37,000 people since august 13 including within 16,000 in the past day. the president is continuing to defend his decision to pull troops out of the country. >> this was the logical, rational and right decision to make. reggie: chaos at the kabul airport as thousands try to escape the taliban. overnight an afghan soldier was killed and three others were hurt in a shootout. the german military says german and american forces returned fire when the shooting erupted. at least 20 people have
