meteorologist mike nicco is tracking the storm. what is going on on live doppler 7 hd, mike? >> a lot of rain is falling. right on time as we said. it came in at 10:00, the heart of it is moving through san francisco right now. we had .6" here and 1" in richmond and .33" in san jose. we another area of high pressure along the cold front as we said, and the light-to-moderate rain is showing up on live doppler 7 hd not only here but, also, another 60 miles offshore. it will come in, in a couple of ways. this is from point raise down to about half moon bay and san mateo bridge up to about highway 37 where we are getting the moderate rain. the light rain is in the green will take over other areas as we head throughout the next couple of hours. here is what to expect: we are going to have light to more likely moderate rain and this will take its sweet time getting through the second wave behind it, and through 4:00, it will take its time. we will get another quarter to half an inch and some could get up to 1.5" in the western facing mountains and hills. ponding will be a big thing

waiting for the next round of rain and amy hollyfield is in mill valley in marin county but, first, mike nicco, is tracking it from the roof of live doppler 7 hd. >> it is raining right now. yes, have your wet weather gear because we talked about yesterday and this morning that the best chance of light-to-moderate steady rain is from about now all the way through the evening commute. right now if you are headed out for lunch in san francisco we have some sprinkles to light rain developing and that is a nice shield of wet weather across the north bay from the bay bridge north. so far, rainfall amounts are light at .03" in concord and .14" in santa rosa. we knew it would be all day event taking the better part of 48 hours to play out. we are not worried about mud or rock slides but we will get building to the left side of the screen, plenty of moisture in the air but we do not have a strong trigger mechanism right now. that trying mechanism is going to come in with the brighter, wider clouds off to the west. the evening commute will be a tough one to get an because all of us will have rain durin

mike nicco? >> we have 25 minute flight arrival delays because of the fog. we are down to less than quarter-mile visibility after half moon bay and quarter mile at sfo and oakland and three-quarters of a mile in novato and starting to see the fog spread to the shoreline not hitting the reporting stations. that is the biggest concern in the morning commute reduced visibility because of the fog. you can see it oversan francisco. it is the fog that swallowed san francisco. we watched it roll in and it took 20 or 25 minutes to cover downtown. the next 12 hours are foggy with tells in the mid-40's to low 50's. by noon, sunshine with low 60 at the coast to upper 60's inland and by 4:00, high clouds and brighter than yesterday with temperatures in the 60's and 70's and everyone grab a coat we will fall back to the 60's by 7:00. our typhoon haiyan moved through the philippines while we were sleeping. it has 165-mile-per-hour winds and as it heads through the ocean towards vietnam specifically da nang it will be a category four storm tomorrow afternoon. it is not ove

. >> our meteorologist mike nicco has been following the path of the typhoon by radar all morning. what is happening now? >> we were worried yesterday at this time with 190 miles per hour wind and 230-miles-per-hour gust but they evacuated 720,000 people and that is why we are seeing such a more positive report out of the philippines than we possibly could have because past storms have devastated the area. it stays south of ma nilly -- manila. it will weakened to a category four and dropping do a category three headed to vietnam and da nang. you can see the coast of vietnam. when it hits tomorrow at 6:00 our time it will make the curve to the north and pound northern vietnam, laos, and that area with flooding rains. we could see more flooding here than in the philippines because the storm will hang around longer. eric and cheryl? >> two people are hospitalized with minor injuries after the car they were in collided with a light rail in san jose. the accident happened at 9:00 a.m. >> the passengers were not injured. the cause of the accident is under investigation. >> c.v.s. admitte
