thank you, captain mike perry. that was encouraging news from him. let's go to weijia jiang on the ground. and looks like the water has stopped flowing behind you. is that right, weijia? >> absolutely. for about three hours, we saw that gushing water. joining us now live is jim smith, baltimore county executive. mr. smith, what can you tell us about the water? it looks like it stopped. has it been completely shut off? >> it hasn't been completely shut off. but it has been for the most part shut off. they still have some mitigation to do that is going to enable them to stop the water completely. we certainly have averted a major crisis. we've had no injuries. really, the only evacuations we had are of people who actually went in the water when we were recommending they not do that. people who sheltered at home are fine. we still have a lot of true krewe on the scene. we'll wait until the -- it's completely shut off. then we have the cleanup. then we have the repairs. then we have to figure out water to the home with that major valve being closed. we'v

we'll to go captain mike perry. mike, you heard a water main break. how is this comparing with that, at least where this area is concerned? >> well, it's not nearly of the magnitude that that was. that was a natural disaster of epic proportions. that was a 100-year flood. this is a very significant flood. when i flew over this, the news desk told me that they taught -- thought it was significant. calling for emergency personnel throughout the county, rescue divers and this and that. when they came up on the scene, i frankly, couldn't believe my eyes. what billy was showing you a few minutes ago, or just as i was talking to you, was one of the storm drains here, which was actually accepting large volumes of water, and actually conducting ailing whirlpool. you can see it -- a little whirlpool. you can see it just sucking it down. that is one of the many storm drains that has been basically overcome by this large volume of water coming from this water main. i don't know how many thousands or millions of gallons a minute. but i will tell you it has caused

captain mike perry, a few moments ago, we saw the rescue boats over there. personnel ready to move out if they were needed. mike? >> yeah, vic. it looks like baltimore county is prepositioning some -- you saw the high volume of water running down the court way. they were prepositioning some boats there, should someone fall into that water. they wanted to be able to respond to that. fortunately, that has not occurred at this point. and i did get an inquiry from the desk. apparently, folks are trying to figure out how to get down into turners station. they can use sowers point road. you can come in -- i'm trialing to think merit boulevard. to sowers point road, down to main street. we'll get you in and out of turners station. and also the little community of edgewater, which is also off of sowers point road. there is significant traffic on sowers point road. not only from what we call the looky-lous. the people coming down to look at this event. that has traffic issues. but we also have an influx. an egress of emergency personnel, which is constantly going on.

mike perry is live in sky eye chopper 13.he'll tell us what is going on. >>> denise, we are over a spectacular water main break this. apparently has broken, somewhere around burning highway, at dundalk avenue. this is in the logan village shopping center area of the lower end of dundalk, baltimore county. now, this water main is a very large volume and has completely flooded dundalk avenue and portions of burning highway that go by the marine terminals is completely undermined. they do have significant issues here. water rescues are ongoing. a lot of this water has flooded into the neighborhood of logan village. behind the shopping center. you see the water, literally 2 1/2 feet of it, running down the roadway. cars stuck in there. now, they have some of these cars occupied. so the fire department is trying to figure out how to get to these folks. some of the folks that live in the neighborhood have just looked outside, seen what's going on, and they're trying to move their vehicles, so that they don't become further flooded.

captain mike perry has more. >> reporter: it all occurred in the 1900 block of north fulton avenue. north of north avenue. and the western district of baltimore city. just shortly after 4:00 this afternoon. police received a call to the 1900 block. where two men were found shot. at least one of those shot inside of a two-story town home. apparently very bloody and graphic scene. we do know that at least one of the two men that were shot at the scene were transported to shock trauma, in critical condition. there's no word on the second. although he was transported also to a local area hospital. police have no suspects at this time. and as you can see, north fulton avenue is closed as police crime scene investigators continue their work. back to you on tv hill. >> okay. thank you very much. captain mike perry. >>> baltimore police have identified the man found shot to death in his home last night. kai is in the newsroom. >>> police say 30-year-old cawan grainger arrived at his house in arbutus just after 7:00 last night. he was unpacking items from his car, which a small group of men

captain mike perry. >> reporter: yes, good afternoon, don and everyone. late morning accident on the spur the ramp to go on the outer loop of 695 from southbound harrisburg expressway occurred after 10 this morning as vehicle being drip along the spur departed the roadway and the state troopers are walking into the wooded area. the vehicle plowed through several trees about another 50 yards into the wood line. apparently killing the driver instantly. state police are on the scene and remain on the scene and have been here since 10 this morning. the traffic situation here is pretty bad. we do have a significant backup of a mile and a half all the way back to pedonia road. only one lane is getting by. so spect delays in the area as state police continue their investigation. it's going to be sometime before they get this accident scene cleared u back to you. >> thanks very much. >>> we will stick with the transportation theme. physical of dozens of speed cameras coming to baltimore city will be up and running which means drivers need to slow down in school a
