weather channel meteorologist mike seidel is in wisconsin for us this morning where it is snowing right now. he's live in green bay. mike, what are you seeing there? >> reporter: good morning. light snow here this green bay. we're just down the street from lambeau, we're on lombardi avenue. we have about 4 inches on the ground. it's been snowing light to moderate overnight. we're not going to get the amounts we had earlier expected. i think denver stole the show yesterday. some of the foothills had as much as 31 inches and they canceled over 80% of the tlis at dia not only because of trying to get in and out of the airport, but they had power outages so that will put a crunch crimp on deicing. there is still a blizzard warning until 1:00, but we're not gusting with the wind. this will wrap up later on today. the entire system is moving east. the cold front will spark severe weather. we have the net of tornados in the deep south including alabama and the southeast. and those showers and storms heading in toward d.c. in the coming days. aaron, back to you from snowy green bay whereby the

today it made for a rough morning for the weather channel's mike seidel. >> reporter: and right now -boy, that was too close. >> that was mike on our show thunder. he's in new orleans where they're getting inches and inches of rain. not long after that, he was pretty shaken, again, when he was on the weather channel this morning talking to stephanie abrams, and after that he just called it quits. he went inside. >> oh, man. it is relentless down there. they're going to get a little bit of a break later on today and they have more rain in the forecast tomorrow for new orleans. that rain shifting to the east today, thank goodness for them. a few sprinkles this morning. temperatures, we're going to be getting some sunshine later on. winds will be calming. it is a little on the breezy side out there tonight and today. as you head for tomorrow morning waking up, limited sunshine and a little cooler than what we've been dealing with but eventually the low 60s tomorrow. could have some passing showers by the time we get to sunday but, again, a little bit warmer once we do get into sunday. le

. >> mike seidel is in new orleans this morning. we understand some areas have seen more than 20 inches of rain already. >> reporter: and right now -- oh, boy, that was too close. we are just getting in to the up until now, we've only had about a quarter inch of rain officially. it's all been to our west and north. some areas have had almost 20 inches of rain. and now it's new orleans turn. this is a big fish bowl, so flash flooding is very likely. let me show you some of the impacts around the state. the northwest part of the state has been hit very, very hard. literal disaster. i-20 has been shut down for a couple days. part of that has been reopened now, but it's going to be one of these situations where the cleanup will linger for a long time even after the waters recede. we'll get a lot of rain today here in new orleans and up through parts of mississippi even into western alabama. that's where the fire hose continues. and by tomorrow, things will begin to ease off as the upper level storm unusual for march lifts out and everyt
