mike's not late to work, he has the day off. they can be dangerous, this time of year, they can cost you big time as well. christie smith is live in oakland with that warning about fireworks. good morning. >> reporter: good morning to you. yeah, firefighters and police are talking about a couple of things, one is that it's going to be hot and dry this fourth of july which means higher than normal fire danger to keep in mind if you're using fireworks. around the bay area in cities and counties it's a mixed bag where you can and can't use safe and sane fireworks. we're standing at one of the fire stations where they have collection bins to get illegal fireworks off the streets. if you are caught with fireworks you can be fined up to $1,000 in the city, police and fire will be patrolling looking for people setting them off. we have youtube video of what not to do. there was someone shooting fireworks toward a b.a.r.t. train, possessing large quantities of fireworks could get you jail time, and fines of up to 5,000 to $10,000. there's also the danger factor involved with burns, even losing limbs, last year according to one

mike. welcome back. 4:32. new this morning, less than a week after a man was found shot in the head on the deanza trail in pittsburg police are investigating a second shooting there. christie smith is live in pittsburg with this. this is a strange one. >> reporter: yeah, it is. good morning to you. details are still coming in but i did speak with someone from east bay regional park police, they say that there was a shooting around 11:55 last night. they found a man down on this trail, the delta deanza trail in pittsburg. this follows a shooting days ago of another man in the same area, the "mercury news" now reporting that person a 20-year-old male from the pittsburg area, has died from a gunshot wound to the head. in that case it was believed not random, occurred at 11:30 p.m. on wednesday. no word yet on this victim's condition or a possible connection to that shooting. we're told he was taken to john muir medical center for treatment and there were no arrests in this latest shooting. there are reports that neighbors heard gun fire and they were the ones that phoned it in which led police to come here and found a man down on the trail. i also have calls this morning into the p

smith. laura, back to you. >> thank you, christie. also this morning, a deadly big rig crash in san francisco. mikens us with the latest. >> we'll take you out there. this is octavia boulevard at oak street affecting 101 and into san francisco. here is a live shot. there's a glimpse of the ucsf shuttle and the car carrier both involved in this accident. sounds like about 6:20 the car carrier was northbound on octavia when it hit the shuttle carrying employees to jobs at sf general. one person was ejected because the impact was so strong. they landed under the carrier. the person is dead on the scene. three other minor injuries. and this investigation expected to take at least three hours. again, because of the death of one person involved in the accident, no one has been found at fault for this. we don't know who is but we have the slowdown expected for the city. use laguna or van ness as an alternate. a lighter volume getting into the city, of course we mourn the loss of the human life and of course we follow that traffic as well. the impact getting off of the bay bridge not yet a problem off of t
