mikey, you first. how sophisticated, how well-trained were these attackers today? >> ed i think the video that you were shown, i think it has a lot of clues in that. it is certainly from my experience, it looks calm. it looks methodical. it looks premedicated. these guys look like they had prior training. there was no urgency in them wanting to get away. that tells me they have scouted out this location. the fact that the magazine was being launched on a wednesday. it was the day of the attack. they would have known that there was a big meeting going on headed up by stephon sharbonneier, the editor that was killed. >> so there was a level of planning? >> it certainly looks like that. >> the ruthlessness of the execution of the man that was shot and then shot in the head right on the sidewalk brings us to the understanding of just how ruthless these people are. we don't know who and why and there is no confirmed responsibility. what do you make of that? >> clinical is the word. it was absolutely clinical. for me there has to have been some former experience. there h

mikey, if i could start with up. on what we've seen today, what we know so far, is there any evidence here to you that's indicative of additional possible local coordination, accomplices, additional accomplices here? >> i think that's the million dollar question at the moment. i think there's this sort of sigh of relief the main events are over if you like but also a little bit of caution to tie up loose ends to make sure there's not a secondary device or a follow-up situation. to answer your question though, krystal, working over baghdad for many years on hitting high-value assets, we worked off intelligence that took months if not years to collect. you looked on these big boards when you walked in the operations room you see the spider network of various insurgents working throughout the city from the very head of the insurgency all the way through to the person responsible for recruitment, suicide bombers, training equipment, armaments. and it takes years to build up this picture of who's responsible for what. tha

mikey, if you could take that a step forward.ooking at the video that we've all seen through the eyes of a military man what are the specific things you see here that are indicative of military-style training? >> i mean i agree, but i think everything is relative. if you look at the basic skill sets of those jihadists traveling to places like syria to pick up arms they're not very well trained at all. at least these perpetrators had the ability to hold a rifle up to the shoulder. they aimed it. what got me is they seemed ve fairly cool calm, collaborated in the whole thing. looked like there was no panic. for me events like this when you look at what happened they take time. there's been an element of training here. there's been an element of intelligence. i feel these people knew what they were going into. the magazine is published on a wednesday. they have a big meeting on wednesday. the editor who was tragically killed, he heads that meeting on wednesday. i feel they had actually been in there or knew someone that had been in
