so that's we have a 100 mile zone. so within 100 miles of the us. cbp, customs and border protection does have this authority and this authority over the border region population wise, almost two thirds of the united states population lives within the 100 mile zone that is within hundred miles of a us land coastal border. so not just the us-mexico border, the us canada border, also areas in california, areas along coastal coastal states. in terms of critics and what are their criticisms, this law or this extension of authority, is that just to percent of the cbp's total arrests, deportable noncitizens happened at checkpoints? what that means then. 98% of the people that they're interacting are u.s. citizens. so critics will say that this law or these authorities and powers often actually are targeting or being used against u.s. citizens rather than their goals of targeting deportable non-citizens. and so their authority in these areas is very deep. anyone here familiar with 100 miles on. any any context about it, just what you're talking about here?

we had a 62 mile an hour wind gust at sfo right now. wind gusts of 40 miles an hour. oakland 47 sfo. they're going to stay elevated all night into early tomorrow. upper elevations in the east bay have been over 55 miles an hour. and as we go through the next several hours, 8:00, 30 to 35 miles an hour, and then finally into early tomorrow, we'll get a much calmer day out there the next couple of hours. notice that the rain continues. we'll see it move across to the east bay and south bay. looks like a lull. 6:00 but guess what? there is more out there and it comes in ten, 11:00 tonight. so the heaviest rain is over with, but there's pockets of downpours and that's going to add up to a quarter of an inch in fremont, a 10th of an inch in richmond with a third of an inch in santa rosa. it's been snowing and the air mass is cold enough to keep it snowing from 2 to 3ft of snow. that will be additional in the sierra nevada. highs tomorrow for your friday with a little bit of sunshine. we're talking upper 50s for you in san jose. slightly cooler. the southwest winds have swi

you start to see some 40 mile an hour gusts in the half moon bay and then start to see some 50 plus mile an hour gusts along the coastline as we head toward tomorrow afternoon. that's when that front should be getting close about to make its way onshore. and you see all those winds coming up out of the south, getting the idea that that front are still off the coast. but it is really going to be whipping tomorrow. anyone driving a big high-profile vehicle, be careful out there on the roads. uni a blown around quite a bit. these are the current wind conditions over the last few hours here. and you can see even 41 mile an hour gusts of point reyes into the golden gate bridge. yes, some of those winds gusting. 35 36 miles per hour, all around. just a very blustery day near the coastline. so these winds will continue as we head throughout the night tonight and tomorrow morning, some very gusty winds as well. that is going to continue throughout the day tomorrow. really going to be wet, wild day. i mean, it really is. you're gonna have that wind. you can have real heavy rainfall, dangerous day

winds could be approaching 70 miles an hour in the hills. this could cause some damage out there and some downed trees and power outages. those will be key concerns and a high surf warning with waves approaching 25ft in the friday forecast. here you can see the rainfall projections. and this is significant rainfall for the entire bay area. the north bay has already picked up so much rainfall. we're adding around two and a half to maybe four inches up in the north bay, but the highest totals expected in the santa cruz mountains. and as we check in on the san lorenzo river at big trees, the river level right now is just about 4.7ft expected to jump to about 14.7ft still below flood stage. as we do move into thursday morning, we'll definitely have to keep an eye on the rivers and creeks because we are expecting a sharp rise overnight. here is with with the water levels. so we're checking out the satellite right now and the radar, all the green showing up on the radar. we still have some more coverage offshore as well. so here's the setup on the
