there's a backup from millbrae to burlingame. here's jeff with an update. >> we're not only tracking, you know, this hailstorm that happened across interstate 280, this was around 9:30 when the hail started falling. but chp is saying they're having such a hard time clearing up the hail which is actually ice. it's when raindrops freeze on the interstates. they're slowing traffic down to five to ten miles per hour in both directions on interstate 280 as some reported one to two inches of hail accumulated on interstate 280 again from millbrae ave to larkspur drive. also getting word from chp right now, we are tracking some hayward hail. the air is so cold, so we get a little bit of uplift in the atmosphere, and that's when these raindrops freeze and turn into hail. most reports coming in with some pea-sized hail. but anyone traveling on 92 or also 580, even 880 in the east bay from union city to san leandro will want to watch out because this hail is accumulating with these current cold temperatures. otherwise we're also talking abo
