been hearing a lot of references to berkeley's free speech movement with the ann coulter and milo yiannopoulosis always, you know, relevant to the present day. you know, leaving even aside that sort of politics, because what the free speech movement did as the beats did before them which is part of the show and what the people in ash bury did after is answer questions about how you live your life and the desire to be treated as a human being rather than an economic unit. student thought of them as the product of a factory. and the -- the people in ashbury did the same. the culture seemed hollow and empty. and here at berkeley, they rose up in protests. one of the most charming things about these shots is jack wood, the first one on the left is jack wineberg being arrested for not giving identification. and they soon surrounded the police car. and it became the podium for a teach-in effectively. and there's him standing on it. if you look and see, he is not wearing shoes. >> do you think it is the comparisons so the free speech movement then and now are relevant or apples and oranges. >> kind o
