there's a footprint here at mineta san jose announcing major layoffs and furloughs. a second round of aid has been stalled in washinton for weeks now. thanks to inaction from congress, no telling when it could come forcing airlines to shed tens of thousands of more jobs and kicking them off health care. >> i have dreamed of being a flight attendant when i was a little girl. my dreams came true. i have my dream job. so i have been asking myself, like, what do you do when you lose your dream job? where do you go from there? i don't have any answers right now. >> reporter: american could furlough 19,000 employees companywide. united could furlough 13,000. delta and southwest airlines say they will be able to avoid major layoffs for now. it might be harder for some to find flights. some small airports won't have commercial flights at all. american airlines alone canceling flights at at least 11 american cities. it's unclear right now if that means more flights will be more crowded and we're working to find out what the exact impact will be at mineta san jose this morning

san jose, we're in the upper 50s now looking northbound on 87 towards mineta san jose international.ommute for about 95% of us is quiet and good. a lot of green there whether it's mass transit or on the bay. here is that fire threat. it's localized, up in the north bay, 11:00 tonight through 8:00 wednesday morning. it's not going to be nearly as potent as the last -- any of them we had so far this fall season. so here's a look. we start off with low to actually none at 11:00. then you ramp up as you can see during the overnight hours. quickly into northern napa, we have it very high. you can see some yellows out there in lake county and solano county. those continue as we head throughout the morning hours. there will be a lull tuesday afternoon. we head into the evening and overnight hours, you can see high conditions develop once again up into the north bay mountains. once that passes we'll finally have some autumn-like weather coming up in the forecast. it doesn't mean rain but definitely cooler temperatures. let's get over to jobina and talk about the morning commute. what are you
