minneapolis because this is one day after the memorial service for george floyd. ten days of protests. now the memorial has taken place. the question is, where do we go from here? >> stephanie, ten days after -- >> my colleague steve patterson is standing by. >> hey, stephanie. ten days after all of this started and the unrest, while that has died down, activism has not died down. the passion has not died down. this is the scene where george floyd died. i'm going to have my cameraman spin around this memorial. it's stunning as we've seen this grow. but the focus is now clearly shifting to the minneapolis police department. the city council president here vowing essentially to dismantle the police department. she wants to focus on a more socially, more widespread, more holistic approach to criminal justice reform and policing. so maybe you'd see like a medic responding to a first call or a social worker responding instead of a police officer as the situation warrants. we're still obviously in therl stages of that planning but they are making voting on it today, including a ten-year investigation into any racial discrimination in the department over that period of time. meanw
