the other headline race for minnesota is the race for attorney general.ison, he got hit with those last-minute accusations of domestic violence. now, he's going to win this primary and win it comfortably. there was also a lot of early voting. he probably benefitted from that. this is very comfortable margin, but this is situation with that domestic violence accusation, this is big what-if hanging over this race in the fall. what if we find out more? what if there is more to this story? the dnc said late this afternoon they are looking into the allegations against him. so maybe to be continued on that front. but keith ellison right now will go into the general election as the nominee in minnesota for the democratic party. quickly, in wisconsin, a senate race here. tammy baldwin one of those democrats trying to defend a seat in a state that donald trump won. who will she face? she will face leah vukmar who won, former chairman of the college democrats 15 or 20 years ago, trying to win this primary tonight. the polling has baldwin ahead in this race by doubl

minnesota, interesting story there. pawlenty obviously going down, quite a fall for him.wo-term governor, former presidential candidate loses this republican primary. you mentioned the trump dynamic. johnson certainly trying to run to pawlenty's right in this thing. trump became a bit of an issue and both of them had very negative things to say about donald trump back in 2016. in 2018, it seemed they both wanted to get as far as they could away from those comments. but jeff johnson knocking off tim pawlenty and republicans thinking the reason they worked so hard to recruit pawlenty into the race was they thought, hey, minnesota is a tough road to hoe for democrats, but maybe pawlenty was the guy that could do it. now they'll have to do it with johnson. a lot of conventional wisdom is that could hurt their odds. the other thing is who do the democrats nominate? they nominated tim walz, a congressman for a district that went for trump by 15 points in 2016 down in the rural southern part of minnesota. so he's got some appeal to the trump, to the republican parts of the state

we have those in minnesota. the difference is, you have something in minnesota you may not have anywhere else in the country. democrats on defense. take a look at this. these three districts, that kind of ring the state here. rural. they kind of go around the perimeter of the state. all represented by democrats. but trump won this by 15 points. trump won this by 15. trump won this by 31. each one of these, 8-1. these are districts that are probably 50/50 in terms of which party will win them. colin peterson, he survived a lot in that district. republicans have their eye on two, maybe in a best case scenario, three seats in minnesota. hard to find any other seats in the country where republicans could not okay democrats. so minnesota has a little bit of everything. the other thing we're looking at in minnesota, it's the race for attorney general. we don't usually talk that much about state ag races. you certainly know keith ellison. keith ellison, last-minute allegation here from a former girlfriend of abuse. he

minnesota, going back to this table, minnesota -- michigan it is less clear whether michigan would be able to do that i administrative action. if it can like arizona it is a lot easier than getting through the legislature. minnesota would require statue to be passed. minnesota law prohibits short-term plans from covering pre-existing conditions that originated during the previous identical policy or contract with the same carrier, where coverage is continuous between the previous and current policy or contract. think about what i just did. minnesota law literally prohibits these plans from covering pre-existing conditions. the whole purpose of health reform on both sides of the ideological divide is trying to make health care more affordable for people who are sick. there is a provision that prohibits them from doing that. it is a little curious. a little like the obama rule in that way. so, there are any number of criticisms that people have made about short-term plans and this rule expanding short-term plans. one of them is that the plans are junk. certainly, if you look at the plan
