last night nearly two dozen train cars derailed, the small town of raymond, minnesota, two hours west of the twin cities. 14 cars were carried corn syrup and ethanol. ethanol is highly flammable, dizziness, coughing, burning eyes and unconsciousness. the concern was the tank cars with the ethanol could explode. minnesota's governor said it will likely take a few days before the damaged cars can be removed. >> local command led by the sheriff will make decisions when you can return to your homes. as quickly as possible they will shrink the containment zone based on the best information out there and get you back to home. >> officials said firefighters from more than 50 departments helped respond to the derailment and went door to door to close to 250 homes at 2:00 in the morning to get essentially the town of 800 people evacuated. as to the cause of this derailment, a team of investigators from the national transportation safety board is expected to get to the scene this afternoon to start their work of figuring that out. john. >> john: the latest on what's going on in northern minnesota. thank yo

in the town of raymond, minnesota, two hours west of the twin cities.s say firefighters woke them up in the middle of the night telling folks within a half mile of the derailment they needed to get out of their and evacuate due to the huge fire that broke out. after 22 cars derailed, 14 of them carrying hazardous material including ethanol. ethanol is highly flammable and can cause dizziness, coughing, burning of eyes and knock people unconscious. bnsf railway approximately 22 cars with mixed freight are reported to be rerailed with four cars on fire. no other hazardous materials on the train and no injuries as a result of the incident. more than 100 people from the small town of nearly 800 were evacuated overnight as fire crews from all over the area worked to put the flames out spraying thousands of gallons of water onto the cars. at this point, it is not clear what caused this train to jump off the tracks. but it comes nearly two months after the derailment disaster in east palestine, ohio. federal investigators are hayed heading to minnesota and the
