>> reporter: this is the mira flores site. if you ever seen those abandoned greenhouses, that is what we are talking about, for decades, tons of pesticides were poured on to the plants that were growing here. it got so bad it became a toxic waste site. today the city of richmond and state of california begins to change all of that. take a look at some pt representatives, meeting out here today. they are ecstatic what is going to be happening the transformation they have planned. first of all there will be a cleanup, federal and state epa is involved. federal government providing the $600,000 in seed money to clean up the area. the redevelopment area that purchased the site in 2006 is now moving ahead with a very green and job producing project. >> all the building will be green certified community and green belt that they are putting into the design as well as urban that we think will reduce greenhouse gases and off set some of the carbon. >> by cleaning on up the site the number of jobs that are available through the hazardou
