you saw miranda richardson as his mother, who is really, really terrific. i think what central to it is the film doesn't play him as a hero, it plays him as somebody who is in a position, you know, which they had nothing to do with. and suddenly find themselves in the centre of this great personal struggle and suddenly find themselves the centre of all this media attention. and if you know, on the one hand doing this very, very heroic thing, but on the other hand finding it very hard to cope with that attention. what i like about the film is that it doesn't try and paint two dimensional pictures. he has fractious relationships with his family, with his girlfriend, he goes through different phases. i think what happens with the movie is it involves you in the story in a way that you genuinely believe that what you're seeing is a realistic portrayal. it's not exploitative, it's melodramatic. i think it's based on a book he wrote. absolutely. the details are true. we've seen enough hollywood movies which are doing triumph over adversity, that do so in a way th
