author mitch albom joins us now. so, mitch album in the new afterwords for the 25th anniversary edition of tuesdays with morrie you write about the compulsion that you had to write this book. what was that compulsion to share? morrie story with the world? i knew that what i was going through in that little office up in west newton, massachusetts, was just between he and i. but i recognized that a lot of what he was saying to me had resonance with a lot more people than just me. and i wanted i wanted to share it. but the truth was, it had the reason behind tuesdays with morrie was much more practical than that. morrie was in debt for his medical bills, and he didn't have a way to pay them. and i was desperate to try to find a way to help him. and so i was the only way i could think of was to write a book. and fortunately, we finally found one publisher after being turned down by many, many places, being told it was too boring, depressing. i was a sportswriter. i didn't know how to write a book like that. we finally fo
