the mitch daniels administration -- so, mitch daniels is the former republican governor of indiana and is now the president of purdue -- wanted to implement this test at wide scale in the university. they wanted a very large portion of the incoming freshmen and the outgoing seniors to take this test in order to monitor undergraduate learning. the daniels administration has made value their sort of keystone word. for example, in indiana, it's now dotted with billboards that say "education at the highest proven value," to sort of sell purdue. this was bound to be controversial for a few reasons, the first of which is that mitch daniels' administration has been controversial at the school. this is for a variety of reasons, maybe the biggest one being that he does not have an academic background, which made many of the faculty unhappy when he was hired on. it's also the case that the way in which he was selected was controversial given that he appointed all of the trustees who, in turn, appointed him. so, when he was governor, he appointed the trustees that then appointed him as the presid

there have been two incredible governors, mitch daniels and mike pence that have reduced taxes and regulationsban that has helped the job situation. but indiana struggles with the 800-pound weight of the federal government holding down job growth. my josh is to reduce the burden of the federal government on small businesses, cutting taxes and allowing small businesses to thrive, bringing manufacturing jobs back to the state of indiana, raising wages for working men and women. it's the priority of the men and women of this state. >> you said trump cannot win over a majority of conservatives. how do you argue against him now. how do you say he can't bring republicans together? >> i recognize the new york media executives -- you get to ask and i get too answer. i recognize the new york media executives and the washington lobbyists running donald trump's campaign both want the campaign to be over. they are desperate for it to be over because they recognize that this campaign has now moved on top much more favorable territory. i'm not going to debate you. i'll answer your question, but i'm not goin

and the other big indiana republican is mitch daniels, who is thinking about a presidential run of his's been staying out of political partisanship and staying out of politics. so he's unlikely to weigh in. so trump, if there's a vacuum of establishment support for cruz, it is something that trump could take advantage of. you know, and win with about 40% of the vote in a split field. >> and i got to ask, what about john kasich? he's the governor of the state next door, of ohio. could he make some kind of last-second bid for indiana? >> he probably would be smarter, spending more time in indiana than camping out in new york, where donald trump has such a big lead. and i know there are a lot of delegates at state in new york, but john kasich should be doing really well in indiana. it's right next-door, kate. there are a lot of districts that would be perfect for john kasich to do well in. and john kasich hasn't won a single delegate since he won march 15th. if he wanted to put some delegates on the board, he would be wise to look at indiana as a real opportunity. >> josh crosshauer with

you've got all these top elected officials, mitch daniels, other people sitting on the sidelines.indiana that have been hard hit by the economic crisis. there are manufacturing areas that are essentially perfect for donald trump. this is nowhere near a sure thing for ted cruz. my question for him, too, is how does he break through over course of the next seven days. i'm kind of wondering what the cruz campaign has up their sleeve for today, because they really -- this has become -- we've talked so much about steve's big board and the math and the numbers. that's certainly still relevant to a certain extent but at this point we're talking about a lot of pressure that's building on people to really kind of coalesce behind donald trump. even for people that frankly i never would have expected to be willing to throw up their hands and say, okay, we're going to get on board. i think cruz's campaign knows they have to do something to shift what's otherwise going to be this victory lap. hopefully they do a slightly better job than cruz himself did with his hooters reference at that rally

the mitch daniels administration -- so, mitch daniels is the former republican governor of indiana and is now the president of purdue -- wanted to implement this test at wide scale in the university. they wanted a very large portion of the incoming freshmen and the outgoing seniors to take this test in order to monitor undergraduate learning. the daniels administration has made value their sort of keystone word. for example, in indiana, it's now dotted with billboards that say "education at the highest proven value," to sort of sell purdue. this was bound to be controversial for a few reasons, the first of which is that mitch daniels' administration has been controversial at the school. this is for a variety of reasons, maybe the biggest one being that he does not have an academic background, which made many of the faculty unhappy when he was hired on. it's also the case that the way in which he was selected was controversial given that he appointed all of the trustees who, in turn, appointed him. so, when he was governor, he appointed the trustees that then appointed him as the presid
