flurries of snow hitting the mountains of north carolina and swain, all the way up to haywood, madison, yancey and mitchell under a winter storm morning. there has been enough snow to caused schools to close in many counties highlighted in pink. other counties are being watched closely to see what happens today and tomorrow. we put our future plus forecast in motion. more flurries expected along the tennessee-north carolina border through the afternoon, tonight and half of tomorrow. by wednesday afternoon, it tapers off at 3:00, 4:00. whatever falls will linger for several days because of bitter cold temperatures. 20's in the mountains, low-to-mid 30's across the upstate and piedmont. it feels colder with that 10 to 15 mile-per-hour wind. greenville feels like 24, hendersonville feels like 12, so if you will be working or playing outdoors today, dress warmly. 40 may be the best the upstate will struggle to get up to 30. a few flurries in the asheville-hendersonville area, but it is higher elevations that we see snow. we will talk more about the weekend in a few minutes. allyson: thank you. taking a look at
