mlb has been clear and i appreciate the clarity. only a new project at the waterfront is going to keep our a's in oakland. well, then why is it come to a vote has been for years. they've been pushing this thing. what's in the way? listen, we've made lot of progress. we got the governor certification at the beginning of this school that this year we released the environmental impact report the a's just released the financial plan 3 weeks ago. and so now we need to bring our partners in this region together to make sure that this project, which is privately financed by the a's will be successful and generate the community benefits that we desert. our task right now and we've got to get it to a vote in the city council by the end of july. all i can say i get you have to july to get this together. so i guess. why after 4 years of not getting it together. using selling is going to happen in a couple of months. >> because of all the work that we've done so far. those were huge accomplishments. those 4 years in the making to get that envir

. >> reporter: two cities, two mayors, one mlb team. vegas mayor carolyn goodman told her local paper that she's been in talks with mayor league baseball about moving the athletics to sin city since 2019. sports business reporter mik acres. >> we saw it with the raiders, you know, 2018 the spark up and got the deal done. >> the city does move very fast and they understand that's attracted sports franchises of all types. >> reporter: on tuesday the mlb said it gave the a's its blessing to start scouting for other cities to move to, citing concerns over how little progress the city has made to approve the $12 billion waterfront development project. mayor schaaf is doubling down on her commitment to get the deal done. >> this is an investment that is worth making not just for oakland but for alameda county. >> reporter: the city council is expected to vote on the new ball park proposal in july. city council president nicky fort nadeau bass says she wants the league and the team to guarantee that the a's are staying in oakland for goods. >>
