we heard from mmc and akron-westfield last night -- they play on thursday. western christian and spirit lake play in their title games on friday. the first game on friday has western christian taking on iowa city regina in class 1a at 11:00 a-m. it's the first championship game for the eight-ranked wolfpack. regina has won five straight state titles -- that's an iowa state record -- and have won 81 of their last 83 games. western christian just started playing varsity football in 2- thousand-4, so their program has come a long way.
