have you heard anything back from moderna?not yet, but look, what you are seeing here with moderna is the tip of the iceberg in temples of what goes on with the pharmaceutical industry. we paid by far the highest prices in the world for prescription drugs, in some cases ten times more for the exact same drug sold in other countries. in terms of morna, here's the story. this vaccine was discovered in partnership with the niih, with a government agency supported by the taxpayers in this country. in addition, the government put $1.9 billion into research for moderna, and guaranteed billions in sales. then, as a thank you to the taxpayers of this country, what moderna says is, after we deplete the government supply of free vaccines, they're going to quadruple the price of that vaccine. meanwhile, they're going to charge whatever it is a vaccine, it costs them about $2 to produce that vaccine. then, on top of all of that, in the last few years, since this vaccine has been on the market, you've got the ceo of the company making bill

interestingly, moderna is the only one using the mrna technology here. you see pfizer and gsk using re recouple bant protein technology it could be a gigantic market. morgan stanley estimates $7 to $10 billion in adults alone for rv vaccines. and of course, these companies are also testing this in kids and in pregnant mothers to try to protect babies, which is a really important area, as well mel? >> right, meg. there's also the drug that's being co-developed by sanofi and astrazeneca for the development of rsv how does that factor in and differ from a vaccine? >> you might have multiple options in the markets if you have babies who are at high risk, who would be eligible for that, we'll have to see how the vaccine, if and when it's approved, sort of stacks up against that but you would have different options, based on different patient populations. >> meg, stick around our next guest says this validates moderna as a post-covid player, sees the stock rallying more than 40% from here. let's bring in michael ye, managing director at jeffries. michael, good

and a few weeks ago, in a collaboration with merck, moderna announced positive results of a phase iier vaccine. i've been talking to the ceo of moderna, stephane bancel, and asked him what he thinks the cancer treatment of the future will be. i think as we move away from chemotherapy and into immunotherapy and personalised treatment, i think we will start to see less side effects of what we saw with chemo, which was very drastic, chemo was going with a a big hammer on everything and very hard to cancer patients. what we know today which we didn't know 20 years from now is that cancer is always a disease of our dna, always. it's a mutation in our dna versus a healthy dna that you have, so what we do then is we make a product for one human being, so we build a robot to make product for one human being at a time. it takes us around 60 days, having been by the time we launch, it will be around 30 days, from the biopsy to you getting in your arm, like a covid vaccine, getting in yourarm, the medicine that is madejust for you, for your cancer, designed based on the sequence of your cancer.
