during red flag days, planes often take off from moffett field to help fight fires.onnel to respond to actual missions, train drills have now been suspended, and that includes all activities planned for today's statewide day of drills. >>> well, right now, emergency responders in marin county are scheduled to take part in a fire drill. the kentfield fire district and the marin county sheriff's office leading that emergency evacuation exercise. the drill is held every year in the kent woodlands neighborhood and about 200 homes are participating. officials say those homes are vulnerable to wildfires, so it's important that responders help residents learn how to evacuate quickly and safely. >>> firefighters in solano county, awfully thin yesterday in terms of resources, while many battles the grass fire, and others were called to a separate grass fire along interstate 780 in venetia. the fire threatened buildings at a nearby apartment complex forcing residents to evacuate. some tenants didn't take any chances. they pulled out hoses to make sure they put water on the fir
