reporter: late today investigators sealed off the home where law enforcement sources say mohammad youssef abdulazeez lived. it's located in hixson, tennessee, which is just about two miles and a few minutes away from where the shootings occurred. federal law enforcement officials say abdulazeez is 24 years old and was born in kuwait and became a naturalized u.s. citizen. his father was from nablus in the west bank and his mother from kuwait. he was not on any u.s. terror list, and the f.b.i. was not aware of his having any terrorist leanings. officials will now go through his computers and any social media postings as they try to determine what motivated the gunman to act. the f.b.i.'s ed reinhold is leading the investigation. >> we're going to do an intense look at him to see what his connections are. we'll look at his friends family his association -- associates to determine the cause or the reason why he conducted this attack. >> reporter: officials will try to find out if abdulazeez was motivated or influenced by isis, the group that's been calling for lone wolf-style attacks in the u.s. on the

law enforcement sources say mohammad youssef abdulazeez wrote about his drug use and how he was influenced by images of death in the middle east. family and friends say the 24-year-old was depressed and at times on medication. officials say abdulazeez had been seeking religious guidance recently. during anin' line search, the 24-year-old looked at the writings of u.s.-born anwar al awlaki among others. al awlaki was killed in yemen by a u.s. drone strike in 2011 was a cleric and leading member of al qaeda in the arabian peninsula he spread his message of jihad in videos and writings. among his followers nadal hasan, the gunman who shot and killed 13 people at fort hood in 2009. sources say abdulazeez's writings continue and thed suicidal thoughts and the f.b.i. is now gathering his medical records. charlie, investigators are also looking at the seven months that he spent in jordan last year, but so far have not turned up any evidence that he met with extremists there. >> rose: thanks, jeff. now to beefed-up security at military sites around the country. adrianna diaz has that part of the s
