i first met mohammed famey when he came over to provide the egyptian voice-over. when we arrived, there were still young men out in front who did not look particularly dangerous. our crew, our camera crew went in for a closer filmel while i and the driver at the time and another young egyptian driver who were with me. the driver of the van abandoned the car. just at the same time a moab approached, and i could see our local producer, my cameraman and my producer were being pursued by this mob, and mohammed fahmy. i jumped into the van as mohammed fahmy held onto the back railing saying drive, drive. there was a mob in front of me. he said drive through them. we'll get you out of here. that's exactly what happened. for the next five or six minutes he directed me down this side street and this side street. he managed to get us to a safe place. he absolutely saved our lives. i'm no legal expert but mohammed fahmy struck me as nothing more and nothing less than a professional journalist. >> coming up on the news hour, the ladies and gentlemen persecutio hour--the alle
