you and i are exactly the same as mohini. based on our conditioning, we have created invisible cages for ourselves that we have not been able to break free of. now, people who are pretty good achievers may exist in cages this big. most of us pace off an area of life that's just about this big. and too many of us exist in cages just this big. but science has figured out that repeated thoughts actually carve neural pathways in our brain. the thought becomes hardwired in. and when a thought is carved in like that, it doesn't just affect your thinking. it affects your entire physiology. i'm sure that whenever mohini even thought about leaving her little area, her breathing would become labored; her heart beat more rapidly; she'd have all the physical symptoms of extreme fear, as if her very survival was being threatened. and so it is with us. like ruts in a country road, the deeper the pathway or rut, the more likely we are to fall into it and travel along it. so say you have this thought: "i'm stupid. i'm stupid. i'm so, so stup
