the des moines hospital sent them off on a private jet to their hometown in vera cruz. iowa methodist medical center effectively deported two comatose patients with no government involvement. >> stephen: well, deported is such a harsh word. the hospital simply moved them to the intensive "we don't care" unit. a severe thunderstorm watch out for the des moines area, to ames, iowa, to zain st. joseph's. roll through the area over the next half hour to two hours. we watch it around st. louis about noon today if it holds together. the problem is we have additional storms dying out, bringing rain to indiana and illinois. so we have flash flooding concerns. we have one complex after another. we have to watch our rivers, including the mississippi. today, a severe thunderstorm watch is out for a few spots. later this afternoon, we get another round of storms into tonight. anywhere in yellow, winds damage, large hail, the possibility of isolated tornadoes, especially southern nebraska an areas of northern kansas. we will watch out for areas there in the northern portion of kansas. as far as memorial day goes, it looks beautiful, if not gorgeous, finally, boston in the water in the 60s. once you get inland to albany, areas that we are seeing cold and rain will finally in new england be gorgeous. >> man, it's a long time. >> you want some nice conditions for everyone. >> that's true, thank yo

there is des moines. north of des moines, a supercell here developing with the potential of a tornado. see the pinks here? that is an indicator that we are seeing perhaps rain wrapped tornadoes, heavy rain as well as hail. you were talking to someone earlier with the grapefruit sized hail. we will continue to see that through the evening. as you can see in the yellows here, those are are severe thunderstorm warnings. we could see some straightline wind damage moving into kansas city and where you see the reds that is where we have the tornado warning. looks like a tornado warning for parts of oklahoma and into kansas south of the wichita area and then into iowa. that is a new tornado warning. and this unfortunately is going be the scenario as we head into the overnight hours when people are are sleeping. noaa weather radios need to be on and pay close attention to your local fox stations. the severe threat again extending from the midwest down through the big bend of texas with sort of a focus on the red

notice they were clustered just to the west side of des moines near wichita and just outside oklahoma city to the east side of town. that's where one of the worst of them were. so what's going on happen today? this area of yellow is at a slight risk. it's huge. goes all the way from central tax tax through dallas-ft. worth through the great lakes. i mean, the area of red is where we had the best chance of seeing the tornadoes today. so it's almost the same spots as yesterday. the tornadoes will form about 4:00 to 6:00 late this afternoon oklahoma city to wichita falls and track northeast, those supercells that could produce tornadoes at any time will arrive later this evening into areas of southern missouri and arkansas. so again, another tornado outbreak. i think today will probably be the last day of the conditions that we've been seeing. and that storm, by the way, is located in the upper right-hand corner of your screen over top of the dakotas. because that storm has been where it is and hasn't moved much, we had a pretty great weekend in many areas of the west. one more nice day
