by 5:00 we have a lot of warm air to the west. 73 at-n cincinnati and chicago. 84 in des moines, iowa. record high temperatures out in the middle of the country. and then this tremendous temperature drop as we head into canada where it's below zero in the middle of the afternoon. the big temperature contrast to lead to big storms sometimes. and the next one is going to be pretty significant. not much moisture in the country now, but there's the storm. lots of moisture in mexico already. the futurecast shows the storm moving into texas. pick up some gulf of mexico moisture out of this so it becomes a bigger area. then we're going to pick up some atlantic moisture. that's a large area of precipitation and enough cold air in the northwest side to produce some snow. this is one model suggesting heavier snow to the north and west. that's probably the way it will end up. but there is a chance of snow a cross a pretty decent portion of our area. for at least a part of the storm. it won't be all snow but a lot of precipitation. 38 north and west with a chance of shower toward day break. windy
