moisture continues to fizzle away as energy and moisture source does the same but we are going to end up with these clouds breaking for some sun. it will quiet down. chilly day. temperatures do end up where they should be. we are starting off below freeze ago cross the board here starting in the 20's from reading, lancaster, all the way across the delaware river in trenton in atlantic city, down the shore and even north of philadelphia we're in the 20's in mess spots or below freezing. meanwhile we have to talk about what is coming up on saturday. there is a coastal system brewing. at this point it does look like a mix of rain and snow but looking for the good snowstorm, we've got a really good chance for this to be an i-95 corridor snowstorm. i would say if you really wanted to know any kind of accumulations right now my gut tells me if we saw this pan out it would be three to 6-inch, maybe locally a smidge more depending on your location but that said that is a saturday concern. we are going to get you through rest of this week without a hitch and friday night overnight into saturda

we're tracking moisture south and west. the highlight today and big weather story chilly start to the weekends. outside tonight temperatures are below freezing everywhere in philadelphia coming in at 28, 20 poconos, 26 dover. 27 in wildwood. and you look at the wind speed and not much of a wind to consider at this hour. sustaining anywhere from 5 miles an hour in wildwood to 9 in the poconos and if you look at the wind direction and wind particles they're acoming in from southerly direction and southerly wind will create most tour from the south working its way north ward as early as tomorrow morning. future tracker 6 is timing this out for you. 5:00 in the morning cloudy start across the delaware and lehigh valleys with the moisture just to the south. it continues in fact by 11 a.m. on sunday you can see heavy amounts of rain moving into the delaware and lehigh valleys. this will continue for a good chunk of the day. so talk about what we can expect the rest of tonight. clouds will continue to increase and that rain starts

once the winds pick up a lot of the moisture pushes out.his evening. a lot of it confined across the 95 corridor and areas to the south and east and by midnight the front moves out the clouds are still around but once the winds come in from a northerly direction it will help to scour out the cloud cover as we get into overnight and as you wake up tomorrow morning. so here's the setup for us on tuesday. you have this dominating ridge of high pressure over the northern plains and the great lakes. so you tap into those northerly winds anywhere from seven to 14 miles per hour. high temperature in philadelphia at 30 degrees. lots of sunshine on the way nonetheless but keep in mind with those northerly winds and strong high pressure in control wind chills near 20 degrees. as we get into midweek, high pressure loses its grip, tracking an area of low pressure coming off the coast of the carolinas so mostly cloudy midweek with a high temperature of 32. i think most of this precipitation stays away from our region but it will help to throw back more

the still moisture overhead.er six radar showing you you heaviest has pushed off shore but still notice some showers starting to pick up once again down across that 95 corridor. going in tighter on street level you can see moderate pocket filling in for trenton, philadelphia, down into wilmington, glassboro and elmer in south jersey. we expect moisture to linger for the early half of the evening hours but then of after that we should have some clearing as we get closer to midnight. that flood warning however has been extended and expanded until 11:30 this evening. even though heavier of the rainfall has moved on out there could be run off with the smaller streams, so keep that in mind for green shaded counties here along the i-95 corridor. we have told you about the cristina river at the the bridge there in delaware. another flooding concern, right now penny pack creek in philadelphia. minor flooding taking place here. flood stage is at 7 feet and half foot above flood stage. these will receive below flood stages

moisture offshore. we're a little moisture-starved at the moment. we have dry air sitting right on top everyof us.of us. some of these bands have started to move into parts of ocean county. but we need the dry air to get out of here before a lot of the bands can push onshore. for ocean county we've seen bands already. we have snow moving into these areas, on the moderate to heavy side. look at the band right offshore. that's a heavier band. we'll watch that approach the area. it's just that wall that the snow is kind of running into which is causing for this not to move in so quickly. again, we did expect most of it in the overnight hours today. blizzard conditions up to the north and west. the snowfall totals have gone quite a bit. as we get closer to the event, we see an overall trend. where is the moisture where is the moisture going, how fast is the storm moving. now that it's actually developed. the models have a little better agreement on what's going to happen. for the philadelphia area south jersey, four to eight inches. it will be sticking

you can pick out a couple speclees of moisture on storm scan 3. it will not verify as precipitation here. we want to jump you into tomorrow. that's what the next round of precipitation comes. yes, it will bring us snow. what we're looking at here is specifically european models and what it is picking up as far as what we may end up finding here and this and one other of the more reliable models are picking up generally you find heavier snow totals south of philadelphia. the general con epsy we found with the system so far has been philadelphia, coating or inch is expectation. depending if the clipper picks up more moisture defending if it zips out and sdbility do anything you may feel more or less of the snowfall totalch the general indication right now is that you will see snow tomorrow. it's how much. generally comes in tomorrow. partial sunshine. hitting 44 e tomorrow most of the day is dry. it's closer towards evening that that clipper will zip on in and bring us the next round of lights snow. here it comes diana. >> are you ready. >> bring it

a lot of moisture already with it. but as it moves toward the coast, the warmer air is going to start to come in. here is the snow later this evening. and the circulation around this will bring in the warmer air, change it to rain across a good bit of our area and back to snow as the storm moves off shore. then we wait for the next one for sunday night to monday. by noon we have high clouds just totally cloudy at 5:00. no precipitation for the afternoon rush. and then the snow by 10:00 tonight. so in general, what to expect we have a mix at the start at the shore, delaware, not going to get much snow at all. mostly rain out of this storm. i-95 area looks like it is going to start to snow. not last that long. change to some freezing rain. freezing rain will be on top of the ice and not on top of the bare ground like it was last week. and then north and west snow accumulation, then ice accumulation then to rain then back to snow. that is a lot going on there. and the poconos mostly snow with some ice. we'll talk more abo

this is a lot of moisture that will move in as we head to the next few hours.county-by-county breakdown shows for the poconos, lehigh valleys and suburbs north and west by 6:00 am we are dealing with rainfall and sleet mixed in here. where you see the pinks near philadelphia and close to the poconos, that is sleet coming down. you can see our temperatures are still below freezing by 6:00 a.m. we are concerned about the sleet and freezing rain and also rainfall as we head to in the morning hours. by 8 a.m. we are dealing with the possibility. it won't be until after 9:00 that we start to see all of these temperatures warming above freezing and will mainly be experiencing rainfall for the lehigh valley and our suburbs to the north and west. if you take a look at the i-95 corridor over the next few hours, we will be dealing with more moisture moving in. by 6:00 7:00 a.m. is when we will see the best chance of sleet and freezing rain where our surface temperatures are at freezing. it won't be until after 8:00, 9:00, that we will see the temperatures warming above f

we are tracking a clipper system low pressure that comes in out of alberta, canada and they are moisture starves tapping into the gulf of mexico and a piece to the south the two of them as they merge will brush us with precipitation mainly tomorrow afternoon because of that winter weather advisories are posted for new casting, chester, all points to the west, but most likely they will spill across the viewing area tomorrow meaning there is concern for that snow falling and combining with the evening rush tomorrow. so tomorrow afternoon and evening it's mainly a snow event from millville to the north and some mixing of sleet and rain that will transition to snow as the sunsets and snow moves into the far southern areas it's the timing that is the concern not the amount we'll see, from noon until 3:00 it's west to east and from 4:00 until 8:00 we see the steadiest snow but as quickly as it starts to fall, it pushes out moving southwest to northeast. we'll chat about how much to expect where you live monica and more rain and snow over the weekend in the exclusive accuweather forecast. >>> t

we do have the moisture already pressing in. on stormtracker 6 double scan radar thanks to the clipper system you notice light moisture in philadelphia. even snow showers north and west for allentown reading and lancaster and we'll widen out the picture. this is the clipper system that will work its way east ward. you can seat precipitation over the ohio valley. the other of low pressure over to the sea and kentucky will work the way east ward. we have light snow tomorrow to contend with. as we go top monday night this storm system will transfer energy to area of low pressure off the coast. and then it will work its way east ward and at that point we expect a storm system to intensify and deepen and the question is where does that intensification take place. in anticipation of moisture on the way tomorrow night to tuesday we have winter weather alerts already posted and winter storm warning for philadelphia and heart of our region and majority of new jersey as well a watch from poconos down to lancaster and into most of delaware
