monika? >>> if you're planning to head around town, one of our directors sandy and i noticed there seemed to be a lot more cars on the road early this morning than we're used to. so what i want you to be aware of is that plus you could find tree limbs down and also signal lights out as well. for example, in silver spring, georgia avenue, between the beltway and spring streets, traffic lights are dark through that stretch. any time you approach an intersection like that, you want to treat that as a four- way stop anywhere in the washington metropolitan area. so keep that in mind. georgia avenue between the beltway and spring street, the single lights are completely dark. frederick down to clarksburg on 270, you're okay. no problems on i-70. we'll take a live look outside right now and show you what it looks like here on the beltway at river road. you may have heard of the overnight issues with a serious accident on the inner loop near 270 and on the outer loop near river road. high water. both

monika? >>> if you are planning to head around town as the anchors have been saying and i have been saying all morning long and even our reporters outside, the signal lights are scattered out all over town and these are the numbers that i have. the latest numbers that i have so far. in montgomery county about 1-d 9. in fairfax about 75 and in the district about 57. these are some of the examples where you may find police direction at wisconsin avenue, at arizona fox hall at nebraska and rena road at tiled don. those are a few examples of where signal lights are out and police are directing traffic. but that is not the case everywhere. keep that in mind and approach the intersections slowly, treat them as a four way stop. the good news is hov restrictions were resisted inside the -- lifted inside the beltway on 66. we'll take a live look at 95 and springfield on the northbound side. you have initial delays in woodbridge and 35 still looks good heading up to the 14th street bridge. i'll have mo

monika samtani, how about the traffic situation? >> reporter: actually it is a very busy morning this morning. i just got word there are technical problems on the metro green line between prince george's plaza and they are working to set up a shuttle service for you. route 193 you want to watch out for a situation with possibly a pedestrian struck. no hov restrictions to worry about on 270 as you head southbound from frederick down to where the lanes divide. this is nice and light as well. the entire stretch of the beltway between 270 and tyson's corner. back over to our map, this time all the way down to the south side of town. no hov restrictions on 95 or 395. the only place where they are always in effect is route 50 in maryland. a live look outside in virginia where things are looking good at the 14th street bridge, by the way, they are going to keep those express lanes northbound into the district for traffic flow and southbound if you are heading into down, this should help traffic. by the way, 17th street near potomac avenue

here's monika with your traffic. good morning. >> this is what we officially call the dog days of summer. if you're planning to head outside, kind of tough as well on the inbound side of i-66. not only are you dealing with the humidity when you head out the door but then delays as well. let's take a live look on the inbound side of 66 where there's been a disabled truck just after nutley street. it was blocking the center lane for a while. it had lost its wheel and i believe it was just moved out of the roadway. so you can see that actually the pace is beginning to improve leaving nutley street to the beltway. that was a tough one early in the morning. let's take another look at our maps. this time we'll go to the other side of town. no problems to report if you're coming in from 270 out of frederick and down into clarksburg, germantown and the point where the lanes divide. this has been light this week thankfully. let's take a live look outside at route 109. as you can see you have a bit of volume but no delays yet

here's monika with your time saver traffic. good morning, monika. >>> good morning.ood morning, everybody. we're starting off with a couple of situations especially on the south side of town. the first one i want to tell but is the inner loop of the beltway after central avenue close to richie marlboro road. we're hearing a car and tractor- trailer involved. could be potentially a serious situation. keep that in mind for your travel plans if you're heading southbound on the beltway after central avenue. another accident on route 210 at livingston road insides the beltway. that's been ongoing as well. 210 potentially blocked in both directions there inside the beltway. let me take you to a live picture, this time on the inside of the beltway of 395. no problems to report here luckily as you head for the 14th street bridge. you're going to be okay. it's the two situations in maryland i especially want you to be aware of. let's take you back over to the north side of town. actually the west side of town. if you're planning to head over on the beltway, dulles toll road,

monika, i can hear her screaming in the back already. we have temperatures which are going to be warmer than they had been. had an usually cool weekend. if we get enough sun, we'll be in the low 90s. a couple of sprinkles early and a couple of thunderstorms early this afternoon with winds out of the southwest for the most part at 5 to 10 miles per hour. want to show you the big picture. we've got some showers and clouds across areas, especially west virginia and ohio. see how the stuff is moving towards charlottesville and i- 64. locally maybe tougher to see. we've got some sprinkles here. on live doppler 9000hd from montgomery county into howard county especially, look at the stuff moving east from clarksville. this is approaching the area where 32 and 29 come together. also toward 95, 295. this will be coming across jessup, laurel, up toward columbia and clarksville. you'll watch out for that temperatures this morning, they're certainly muggy. the low to mid-70s with high humidity everywhere. some 60s, though, out in western maryland.
