let's go over to monika samtani.'s got some traffic cameras showing where the snow band is. >>> we do. if you take a look at the camera i'm about to show new rockville, it's really coming down. it was up in clarksburg and now we're going to take a look at our mdot camera if we could, lauren, at montrose road and 270. if you look closely, you can see it coming down against the light here. that's also going to affect your visibility, keep the distance from the car in front of you. people are going slower. you don't have the volume but you still want to keep your speed limits down especially coming in from frederick. we got word from frederick county up there at the intersection of i-70 and 270 that the snow is causing some problems there as well sticking to the roads up north. this time over to the other side of town coming in from the west again, a band of snow as howard has been saying. let's take a live look outside one more time. this time on the dulles toll road at route 28. again snow sticking to the side of the

monika samtani, we know it's snowing in spots. is it sticking on the roads? it doesn't seem to be sticking on the roads. maybe just causing a little bit of a slushy condition. other than that, you're going to see it sticking on the side of the road. for example, on the southbound side of i-270, let's take that live look in clarksburg at route 121. i was looking at all the cameras. you can see it's sticking on the side of the roads here. actually it is beginning to slow things down on the road as well southbound on i-270. so maybe some slushy and wet conditions that you'll have to deal with. keep your distance from the car in front of you, please. we'll take a look at the maps again. this time we're heading all the way into virginia. i'm getting word it's slowing down on the northbound side of i-95 here in the triangle area. a little more as you cross the occoquan river. let's take a live look on 66 on the inbound side coming in from gainesville to manassas on our traffic camera. watch out for some slow traffic. northbound i-95 here in springfield same story.

with more on that we'll go over to monika samtani now with the latest on timesaver traffic. >>> we have lots of accidents to report, especially to the north and west of town. i was on the phone with montgomery county police, maryland state police, and even fairfax. they're all saying that the black ice and the flash freeze is what you want to be aware of. how wrpd has been talking -- howard has been talking about that all morning. let me start with the north side of town. on the utter loop of the beltway there was a single vehicle accident near connecticut avenue. on the southbound side of 270 there was one at i-370 and also one at route 124. let's take a look at the delays. we'll start off with our chart camera. it's been like that for i'm going to say an hour in silver spring. this is westbound 495 at georgia avenue. expect that to be continuous toward connecticut avenue where the accident now has been pushed off to the side of the road. now over to the other side of town. 270 southbound where you've got delays as you come in basically from high hyattstown all the way to route 124. it

let's go over to monika samtani.he's taking a look at timesaver traffic here at about 6:18. >> now there's another accident, southbound route in in jaunt company -- in 234 in quantico blocking a calm of lanes. v.a. -- couple of lanes. >> virginia has been hit hard with accidents. the good news this accident i was telling but in manassas at route 234 at prince william parkway northbound, that's -- you've got some lanes getting by. one lane in each direction. tow trucks arrived a while ago so things are improving there. also improving just a bit here in terms of the lane television inbound on i-66 before route 29 in centreville. the accident was moved to the shoildzer but look -- shoulder but look at that yellow heading bay that accident. extends from manassas post of the way but at least your lanes are open. the southbound side of 270, generally speaking it's going to be slow route 109 to 121. then falls road just a bit below the speed limit here. no big deals down to the split. one more look at the maps this time to

it is now 6:30, time to check in with monika samtani.'s got the latest timesaver traffic. >>> we are just having a lot of problems with public transportation this morning. first of all want to let you know metro's red line experiencing delays both directions in silver spring because of switch problems. also vre no service at the brooke or leeland stations because of an earlier problem. your trains are delayed at least 20 minutes. metro is honoring your tickets, by the way. also an accident right now just north of the beltway in four corners. it's southbound on route 29 at university boulevard. blocking off the right lane and it is right at the height of the rush hour. that is going to cause delays in the four corners area. we're trying to get -- wait for sky 9 to arrive there. they haven't yet but we will have a look at that for you in a few minutes. in the meantime let's go outside live. here's what it looks like on the beltway nearby new hampshire avenue. no issues till you get to university boulevard. it slows down through that stretc

let's go to monika samtani. >> reporter: you are going to find the roads are wet but volumes are stillight. that means that changes quickly on the inbound side of i-66. slow traffic as you can see especially through the fairfax area. things look guide, a live look outside. if you are planning to head here on the northbound side of i-95 a little hard to see through the haze here. lanes are open and the main hov lanes heading over to 35 and the 14th street bridge. all the hov lanes are open, of course. let's look at our maps southern maryland,ing route 4, route 5, route 301 everything looks god. we'll take another live look from our camera on the beltway in prince george's county. all public transportation looks good as well. but the company installing cell phone service in metro's underground stations says they can't afford to do it any more. power ways has asked a court to let it stop the work after filing for bankruptcy. metro was lobbying for a december 2015 due date and now this could push them back to 2016, another three years. >>> wow. raising a child with autism is no easy task.
