(grant) the north and south sides of big sur are just a couple months away from reconnecting.. the pfeiffer canyon bridge was demolished in march after winter storms triggered landslides causeing the bridge to buckle. this week, crews are assembling girder pieces... to make metal beams that will support the new bridge. cal trans says this project is high on its priority list.
