where those repairs are now taking place this is monroe between first and second. we understand 18 buildings right now here on monroe do not have water and we're not expecting the repairs to be done on this particular water main until some time this afternoon. this is how it looked earlier this morning, water crews turned the water off a few hours after the flooding started some time around midnight and the water at one point was ankle deep and a few cars had to be towed because of the rising water. now once crews were able to get that water off the flood water receded relatively quickly but it's still a mess and for some people who were just getting used to having their water turned back on after last week it's another frustrating start to their day. now it was a week ago that a 24- inch main broke and that let some massive flooding on several streets here in south hoboken. crews were able to get that all fixed yesterday and restored water to the entire city and now here you have another water main break although again this one not as extensive as the one last wee

we're alongside the turnpike in monroe township. this is mile marker 76 and it was a jackknifed tractor- trailer, a fed ex truck that caught fire afterwards. you can see the truck and tow truck there about to try and remove that vehicle. but the cleanup continues. this happened on the truck lanes of the turnpike just before exit 8a, and the truck caught fire. amazingly we're getting word that the driver was not seriously injury, managed to get out of the vehicle. there was a minivan involved as well, and the driver of that vehicle was injured, but non- life-threatening injuries, taken to robert wood johnson hospital and is expected to survive. as we said, the cleanup continues, and there was a traffic delay for quite a while. however, all the traffic diverted off of those truck lanes, the truck lanes now closed, and so everything being moved onto the car lanes and traffic moving well here on the new jersey turnpike. but the cleanup continues. we're live in monroe township, marcus solis, channel 7 eyewitness news. >> all right, marcu

one of the hardest hit areas was monroe county. that's where we find kcci 8's rose heaphy. she joins us live on the phone with more. rose? reporter: i'm here. i spoke with the national weather service official and he says this was a confirmed tornado that went through here. he says they are trying to assess the situation to see if it was an ef1 or ef2 tornado. according to radar in the fight there were 100 mile-per-hour winds here yesterday. we spoke with a homeowner. i'm looking at the house right now. half the roof is just ripped off. the carport is flattened and meeting across the cars. the drain bin is distended. flattened by the storm and all the wind. basement. he said he did not sound like a he came back up and he just said he saw the daylight coming to thought. on 70, which goes through melrose, that is closed at 280. i'm told to the emergency management officials there are a couple of other homes that have been impacted by the storm. they will be out here serving the area for the rest of the day to see what the damage was. as far as i know that have not been any ma
