it's outrageous. >> let's talk about montana and your article on msnbc.com, you point out in montana, initiative say it ups the chances of fraud, though almost no in-person voter fraud has been detected in this state. what's the real motivation in montana? >> well, a big part of the motivation has to do with college students. they are actually a big part of the democratic base in montana, and they particularly are benefitted by this same-day registration, because they are moving around a lot, so it's convenient to be able to show up on the same day and register and vote. not being able to do that will dramatically decrease the turnout among college students and that's a big problem. >> what's the court said about the situation in montana? >> well, there was a court challenge, and what it did was they were able to change the language of it, which originally had incorrectly said they had to end same-day registration in order to comply with federal law. that wasn't true, but the court said you have to change that language, but it can still go ahead and be on the ballot. >> senator, oppon
