montel williams coming off the plane as well. what is the story behind this conglomeration of people who how they were able to use their status to try and win his freedom? it is a myriad of players. bill richmo bill richardson. montel williams, does a lot of work with vet skpererans and me health. he felt it was his job. and it's actually worked out very well. and you also saw chairman ed royce of the house foreign affairs committee. and all played a part very early visiting andrew tahmooressi in prison early on. so much work has gone into this. and it may seem this sort of came out of nowhere but according to the family they tell me that the wheels have really been in motion the last ten days. and thought they were going to get the release on tuesday and ends up they got the lease on friday. we're wait for the press conference in about 15 minutes where the family will come out. not tahmooressi or his mother jill, but the family smokesman will come out can talk about what happened. and the materials there. >> what kind of materia

. >> i know you worked very hard along with former governor bill richardson, talk show host montel williams and others to help secure the release of the sergeant. he was held for 214 days in that mexican jail. why do you think it took so long before the mexican government finally set him free? >> well, i think the argument that helped set him free was the argument that the attorney general of mexico, under mexican law, did have the ability to issue a nonaccusatory statement to the judge and the argument i made to the attorney general was that we, in fact, had proof that ten days before this incident, sergea sergeant tahmooressi had visited the hospital and they determined he had ptsd. objectively, a case where he needed to have treatment, they didn't have the ability to give treatment in mexico. our request was for a humanitarian release. once the attorney general decided to do that, and i think our hearing on the subject helped on this, then the way was paved forward for his release. i must say, last night, he was in pretty good spirits when he saw not only his mother but also one of his f
