there have been some good downpours towards monterey and points south.h avenue and glenn maybe a few light showers near windsor. cloverdale had some pretty good rain for a while. that looks like that is over now. a few sprinkles around sonoma county for a while but that has moved off as well. around los altos hills i doubt there is much happening but there could be a few sprinkles. the better band is in santa clara valley and points south to the monterey peninsula. that is the best bet. maybe up to gilroy were morgan hill. the system is moving and we can see that band wrapping back around from gilroy to santa cruz . it looks to be the best opportunity in that area. 60s and 70s held up by the cloud cover. mostly cloudy with west southeast 12. we are starting to see a little breeze. the low will focus most of its energy into the central sierra in southern sierra. that is the best opportunity for we are just a little too far north. system coming out of the gulf of alaska will sweep through tonight and into tomorrow and we can as a comes over us it will ring

it's currently 27 degrees in truckee going to a high of 65. 73 in monterey bay. our numbers, a little bit cooler than yesterday when we had 85 in livermore. we are going with 84. 73 in san francisco which is what we experienced yesterday. notice the dry weather pattern turning cloudy on tuesday, muggy with much-needed rain on wednesday. take it away, liza. >>> good morning. caltrans is busy this morning. they have lots of roadwork out there and we are going to start off at the bay bridge where caltrans has set up shop in the eastbound direction. so this is between san francisco and the island three lanes shut down until 6:00 this morning. this is all part of ongoing construction in the westbound direction. the roadwork is expected to be picked up that way in about 10 minutes or so but still traffic doing fine at the toll plaza. no delays heading through that construction zone. at the very dark san mateo bridge westbound traffic doing okay approaching the span, no delays as of yet close by for 880 rolling through the hayward area. the golden gate commute is very q

it should have rained south of monterey. the rain was supposed to stay there but low pressure made a northerly trek and dragged some rain up to the north into the bay area. so bonus rainfall because boy, do we need it. we need more than this. we'll talk about if there is any more in the seven-day forecast coming up in about 9 minutes. >>> new information on the death of an inmate at the santa clara county main jail. the coroner released a preliminary autopsy report late this afternoon. it could not pinpoint an exact cause of death for 33-year-old walter roches but it did say there were no obvious signs of foul play. roches was found dead on monday. he had been placed on a suicide watch. his death comes nearly a month after another inmate was found beaten to death in his cell. three correctional officers are charged now with his murder. >>> opponents are blasting what's being "build" as an anticrime proposal in san jose. they say it could lead to a tidal wave of evictions of people who have never been convicted of a crime. it

king city, hollister, monterey may be dealing with thunderstorms overnight tonight.ding edge of the rainfall has made it that close to the bay area. but it likely will stay to the south and we are are dry. kpix 5 hi-def doppler not tracking any rainfall for the immediate san francisco, san jose, oakland area. we'll get cloud cover. it was humid today. it will get stickier tomorrow but all this rainfall will impact southern and central california not making it here. a low pressure area will come from the north. the front will arrive saturday. it sounds wonderful because typically with fronts we get rainfall. this time of year though we often see the jet stream carrying the majority of the moisture up to the north. seattle gets the rainfall, vancouver gets the rainfall, portland gets the rainfall, we may see 1% of the rain around here. that likely will be the case for that particular front. a few showers possible saturday. what it will do it will keep it cloudy and temperatures will cool down. rain to the south we'll stay dry tomorrow. cloudy and sticky. fremont 78. va
