authorities in monterey county expand their evacuation order after a levee breach flooded homes and businesses. this is ktvu fox two news at six. good evening, everyone. i'm julie julie haener. we begin tonight with more flooding and storm damage, as well as late developments on new emergency declarations. governor newsom declared a state of emergency today in six additional counties palabras del norte, glenn kings , san benito and san joaquin. this comes after the white house approved a presidential emergency declaration authorizing federal assistance to impacted areas up and down the state. ktvu christien kafton is in fremont tonight, where part of interstate 80 is closed due to flooding. overnight rain rolled through the bay area, soaking the eastern side of 80, just south of thornton avenue in fremont, that hillside finally giving way, spilling debris onto the roadway, blocking the drains and backing up traffic so that debris flow pretty much went onto a highway, causing some blockage of our drainage, causing that flooding to occur both on the northbound and southbound direction. caltrans

we've also got flood warnings through friday at 3:32 in monterey county. they're seeing serious flooding as well. we're not in the clear just yet, even though the system is moving through quickly. it is a warmer system, so notice our daytime highs as far as temperatures go, we'll be in the upper 50s, a couple of low 60s. heavy a.m. rain that will move through until about noon, 1:00, and then by the evening we're talking spotty rain. let's take a look at the timestamps. tuesday, 6:00 a.m., we're still seeing for the most part light to moderate. it's where you see the yellow, kind of orange hue right around 7:30, i'm starting to notice peak downpours. but i talked about it being pretty much out of the area by 1:00. this is great. we're going to see scattered showers because this means it's not going to stall out over one area. santa cruz is expected to see higher totals. we've already seen big impacts. we're monitoring the rivers as well. as we get the break at around 1:00, later tonight we've got some instability that's still going to move in from the pacif

at least 4 tonight for a missing 7 year-old boy in monterey county. this chile was first reported missing about 8 o'clock last night. officials say a 3 year-old boy, a toddler was alone on the beach there last night and told a passer by his mom had gone into the water earlier and hadn't come back out. this is in the area of moss landing the boy later told first responders once they were called to his brother was also in the water with his mom. this morning, the sheriff's office said the body of the mother was found the search for the 7 year-old boy continued for nearly 12 hours today across 5 square nautical miles. it is not clear how or why the mom and her son were in the water. an investigation there is underway now. as for that search in pacifica that we started with will continue to keep a close eye on that throughout the night and bring you updates as we learn more. ken. catherine, back to you. all right, grant, thank you for that days after the storm and still thousands of people are in the dark. look at the pg e outage map. this is how things s

the other thing to watch out for you can see all of the red down there in part to monterey county where they're having a lot of flooding concerns were doing okay. but we do have a creek in the north bay that has got over it that its banks that's up in sonoma county in the mark west creek, kind of just west of the sonoma county airport. now, that just means be careful and make sure if you're out and about that. you're taking precautions because we do still have some of those creeks and streams that have risen up. but it's pretty nice out there. not bad and all that atmospheric river moisture now has gone from southern california and then moved right towards places like arizona and up into the 4 corners where they're getting rain and snow from that. well, here we are nice and peaceful and quiet just a little bit in the central sierra right now, seeing a little bit of a snow flurries happening there. so the question is what comes next? i know that's always the question, right? as we get towards the weekend, you can see a couple small waves trying to come in and it looks like we have just a
