(grant) covering california police are on the hunt... for a man who shot a sheriff's deputy this morning at a gas station in san bernardino county. the deputy confronted a robbery suspect, who started shooting. the deputy managed to return fire and briefly chased the suspect. the officer was taken to an area hospital with what are being described as non-life-threatening injuries. authorities say the deputy was wearing a bulletproof vest that saved his life. the gunman still on the loose is a white man in his 40's.
