raiders of the lost arc with my dad or sleepless in seattle with my mom or watching the mary tyler moore show with both of them and we would quote things and so, this is clearly where it started. tv in particular, i always tell this nerdy story about myself. i was such a nerd. i have many of these, but this is one. when i was a kid, we'd get tv-guide and you'd get the actual tv-guide in the mail and i was 10 years old or something and we'd get it and i'd read the articles and go through the whole week and circle the things i was going to watch that week and then i was ready. so that shows you, it's not a huge leap to realize eventually i'd end up working at entertainment weekly writing the articles like those, who gets to do this, why and how? i did go to journalism school and my early career was actually totally not like this. i was a newspaper reporter for local newspaper reporter going to like city council meetings, writing four stories a day about the police beat and the city council beat and things like that. eventually i did make my way to new york city where i am now, with kind of
