this is where it crashed just off moorpark and 280. and it turns out that the vehicle then turned over rolled over a couple of times. the driver was gravely injured taken to the hospital where that driver died. the female passenger did survive and is talking with officers right now. there was one patrol car here. if you pan here to the left, this suv, chp suv, actually hit a street sign, the street sign then damaged the windshield. the two officers inside suffered cuts to their hands but looks like they will be okay. but yes, stolen vehicles coming out of the south part of the county, they chased it all over. they said they were determined to pull this driver over because it was posing a danger to the public. and it ended in a fatality out here in san jose. so if you are heading out in this area you stay away from moorpark avenue and 280. they will be out here for at least a couple more hours. live in san jose, kiet do, kpix 5. >>> with more on that for commuters liza battalones. having some traffic days? >> it is causing delays on cit

right here on moorpark. besides this white vehicle, there was this c.h.p. , highway patrol car, suv you see here was involved in the crash. it hit a sign. you can't see it but its windshield is completely shattered. let's go to video that we took earlier this morning. this all started at about 3:30 a.m. c.h.p. in gilroy have spotted that white sedan because it was speeding. they are saying it was traveling anywhere between 125 to 135 miles per hour. on highway 101. it then went to 237, it went on 80 and also to 280. they were following it on multiple freeways. it was driving erratically. it could have maybe sideswiped some of the vehicles and that's why they were pursuing it. it finally ended here at moorpark and winchester. when it crashed, it lost control somehow. we spoke to the c.h.p. officer, who told us why they felt it was necessary to follow it. here's what he had to say. >> this driver was driving at a high rate of speed and he was intentionally, it appeared, trying to ram other vehicles. extremely

vehicle right here was killed this morning as they tried toome off the southbound 280 off-ramp onto moorpark. the man died, the passenger, a woman 18 years old is now in the hospital. this chase lasted for 30 minutes, started around 3:30 this morning. officers noticed this car hitting speeds of 100 miles an hour. this was northbound 101 near hellyer. that's where they tried to pull the car over. of course, it didn't stop, this chasen compassed roads, 880, 17, 285, southbound 280 before it's aren't vently crashed here. they say this person appeared to be intentionally trying to swerve into other vehicles which never happened, but to give you a sense of how erratic this driver was. >> this driver was driving at a high rate of speed and intentionally it appeared trying to ram other vehicles. extremely light traffic at the time. this was an extremely dangerous driver that needed to be removed from the road. >> chp believes this older model honda coupe was stolen. as far as the two chp officers who were hurt, their vehicle hit a curb and a sign. that's where the injuries occurred. they'll be okay
