this shut down part of moraga avenue. nick smith is live with the story. nick? >> it's still creating a mess here in this stretch. just off of highway 13 down to red rock road i want to show you video. this was our camera over the scene. and we were first to seen moraga avenue closed after a pine tree fell on power lines multiple agencies are here on the scene. and an official tells me a small mudslide forced the closure, pg&e has been trying to clear the trees and branch that's took those lines down. city officials still aren't ready to give a cause for the slide in the first place. east bay mud is telling us they don't have a water main break. they're looking to see what caused it. >> in the last hour an official told me this could be an irrigation leak on private property. right now, they're working to deenergize their lines to make repairs. back here live, you can see crews are working on trees now. the city of piedmont will clear debris. but there is no timetable when this will be finished. if this stretch is part of the commute you need to know it remains

it happened this morning on moraga avenue. the slide knocked a tree on to a power line leaving nearly 500 people without electricity. that mudslide is still blocking moraga avenue. no one luckily was hurt and no houses in danger. the officials believe a broken irrigation system may have caused the slide. right now at this hour, some 90 people are still without power and crews are still at work trying to clear that road. >>> a follow up to a story that's alarming a lot of people. two women found dead on mt. tam in less than a week. investigators do not suspect any type of foul play. so the question is, what happened? and should hikers be aware of the trails? nbc bay area's stephanie trong it on mt. tam. this is one of the most beautiful hiking spots but it's also very rugged. >> reporter: that's right. that's what hikers are saying. these trains are maintained well, paved well, but those are the official trails. we're standing on one that's a social or animal trail. people come to these trails to get some of the best views. we
