right there around morehead city predicting this.models in good agreement and good agreement for a long time. gives you a a much higher confidence in your forecast. here you go right now we are at 90 miles per hour. but you see right here just to the south of morehead city talking at about 1:00 p.m. today crossing over and then emerging back out over the water. sunday morning right here just off the jersey coast towards the delaware. see a lot of water being pushed in across the coastal areas and a lot of river across the hudson river. that's some of the concern. some the water overlapping into battery park and could that get into the subways. that's why they are closing that if the storm does track to the west at all and a couple of our models dial doo that that's worse news. more water pushing up in the hudson and storm surge. tracks off to the east more storm surge. such a big storm we will see storm surge down along long island and long island sound and even in up towards the bay. a lot of people dealing with a rise of water that

hugs the coast and possibly makes a landfall saturday morning, we're thinking somewhere between morehead city and cape hat ta rufplts you can secape hatteras. hurricane-force winds 90 miles away from the center of the storm, a very large expansive system that is going to affect much of the east coast within the next couple of days. category 2 storm, this is the latest advisory from the national hurricane center. we are expecting a landfall, again, some time saturday morning, i believe anywhere between 11 and 3:00. again the exact time and intensity of storm to be determined upon landfall. we think it will make a second landfall some time sunday morning between 10 and 2pm on long island, western long island right now. again, that is the latest advisory and then moving very quickly up into new england. we could see a third landfall across southern connecticut again as a hurricane. i want to show you one of the computer models that we look at when we see the cone of uncertainty going further out in time. this indicates landfall 9:00am saturday across coastal portions of north carolina and making

the better chance is that it's very close to morehead city, atlantic beach, into north carolina. and then the bad part is, that isn't even really land. there's an ocean, an island, barrier islands, but there's the sounds in there. that's all just water. so this storm doesn't slow down at all. it doesn't lose intensity because it's over land. it glides right al the delmarva, goes right on up the jersey shore and right into, very, very close to the hudson river. the new york harbor, with water and waves lapping into the harbor. especially water and waves and surge on long island. and even probably all the way over from providence into rhode island itself. this will be a storm that we have never seen. hurricane bob in 1991, but it was farther to the east. in our lifetime we have not seen a storm just drive right up the hudson river and takes that water with it, and maybe even floods parts of manhattan. >> any sense of how this compares to -- on long island in new york, there was the hurricane in '38 that killed, i think a couple hundred people out around west hampton, all around tha

somewhere down the middle of that cone will be morehead city, atlantic beach. all day long this storm just ran through the bahamas and it wasn't very organized. it was a 100-mile-per-hour storm. it just didn't have its act together. well, now, on the very last couple of images, candy, the eye is back. and when the eye comes back, the storm begins to generate itself again. this storm is not going to be the potential category 4 according to the hurricane center that it once was due to today. it just didn't generate anything today. now, we do have some rain. we have some showers on the florida coast and we even had some airport, some cancellations out of miami and ft. lauderdale due to those squalls coming onshore. we are still seeing and that's all we're going to see are those big waves coming onshore in the atlantic. yesterday at this time, we talked about waiting for the turn. this is where the storm has been. here's irene. i'm just kind of smoothing it out for you. but you notice the last few hours, the turn is here. the turn that has been forecast for days is
