ktvu's janine de la vega spoke to investigators and joins us live from morgan hill, not far from where the body was found lit on fire. janine? >> reporter: cristina, sheriff's deputies have oakland avenue roped off for a mile mile-- mile heerl. it's a rural road. it's well traveled because it's a shortcut for comullers. there was a burned body dumped down the embankment. down 8:00, someone driving down oakland avenue saw smoke coming from the side of the road. they stopped to investigate and found a person lit on fire smoldering about 20 feet away in the veg takes. sheriff's deputy say they pronounced the person dead. they started to treat this as a crime scene and collect evidence. they are not able to say how long the body was on fire. >> we're obviously gonna treat this like a homicide scene. bodies just don't start 0 start on fire by themselves. we always treat these as suspicious. homicide we're gonna investigate it. we're gonna call out our crime scene investigators. we're gonna spend a lot of time out here and collect all of the evidence we possibly can. >> reporter: it's too ea

a smoldering body was found near a reservoir in morgan hill. and in san jose -- a woman was found stabbed to death in a car -- next to a church. no suspects are in custody in either case tonight. good evening, i'm pam moore. tonight -- san jose police are calling the stabbing death. a homicide. kron4's philippe djegal has the the santa clara county medical examiner's office say the victim -- a woman. suffered at least one stab wound. how long she was inside the car parked in the grace curch parking lot is unclear. but police say since at least wednesday night. at around 11 o'clock thursday morning. officers responded to a call from a passerby here on aborn road. reporting an unconcious woman in the car you see with its trunk open. officers soon learned that the woman was not alseep -- but in fact was dead. in this video from our helicopter partnership with abc7 news. police closed the area off to the public, and it remained that way for about six hours. though parents were allowed to drop off and pick up their kids at the church daycare center.

investigators say knight assaulted a 14-year-old at a house on the east side of morgan hill. knight was arrested and booked into santa clara county jail for lewd and lascivious acts on a child. police are encouraging any other victims to come forward. >>> a former richmond middle school teacher is facing 60 more counts accusing him of molesting students. 32-year-old ron ginto was a teacher at making waves academy. prosecutors say he would organize unauthorized camping trips where the alleged molestation occurred. he was originally charged with 27 counts but on friday, that number was raised to 87. he's pled not guilty to all charges. >>> supporters of doctors medical center are pushing forward with legal action to keep the hospital open. doctors hospital announced earlier this year it would radically cut services including emergency care because of a finance am crisis. it's the -- financial crisis. it's the only hospital in west contra costa county. today a group supporting the medical center said it will fire a request for an injunction to keep the hospital open. >> there's
