one campground in morgan hill had to evacuate guests. nbc bay area's marianne favro is near the uvas reservoir with the rising water levels and that warning. marianne? >> reporter: well the campground has a low-lying road that leads to the campsite so the concern is if that road became flooded then some of th stranded. thousand trails campground in morgan hill is downstream from uvas reservoir, which is now at capacity. is video taken from our nbc bay area sky ranger -- shows water flowing into the spillway and downstream you could see water levels rising under the bridges near the campground. one of the big concerns is the low-lying road leading to campsites. as a precaution, campground operators ordered all of the guests to leave. including lambert lorrette, who said he was told to get out yesterday. >> they said we had to go. we had to leave. and to leave the campground. >> did they give you a reason? >> they said the water board was here and they're evacuating the park. >> reporter: lambert said this is the third time he's had to eva

in morgan hill over 3 inches in san jose. san francisco almost an inch and a half of rain there, and we are looking at close to an inch in oakland, and also in concord. it is all over the place, because you look at san anselmo where we had over four inches of rain. head over toward napa, it was close to two inches and santa rosa had a little bit over two inches of rain, so as you look at the seven-day forecast at the bottom of the screen, not a whole lot of breaks in the rain, and it's going to be chilly over these next few days, and this is as a cold front moves through. we are going to see still some scattered showers moving through, even a chance of storms. as we get a look at some of the heavier rain moving through parts of the east bay, i want to take you in closer as we see the rain moving through san lorenzo and san leandro and moving over toward castro valley. we can even take this down to street level and show you exactly where the heaviest rain is coming through, but i take off the storm ranger radar and you can see

kron four's rob fladeboe joins us now live from anderson reservoir in morgan hill to explain why it's happening. rob? (rob /live) i'm here on top of anderson dam. the level in the reseroir is being broughtdown not so much out of concern about flooding brought on by too much rain, but rather about guarding against flooding resutling from an earthquake. let's take a look. water is gushing from a pipe here at the base of anderson dam at the rate ofabout 150,000 gallons a minute. the water is being released into coyote creek but is not likely to cause any flooding downstream says the water district's kurt arends.kurt rends/santa clara valley water district "....the flows are limited so there is not enough to cause any damage downstream, plus we do it when it's sunny and not raining and hopefully by the time the next storms arrive the reservoir will be back down and there will be plenty of storage..."right now, the level in the reservoir is at roughly 35-percent, well below capacity.but because the dam is seismically deficient and could fail in a large earthquake, the level must not be all
