this camera is located near morgan hill.e direction of watsonville to the southwest. you can see the smoke still rising off of the fire. we actually have one of the fire weather sensors in the immediate vicinityofthat fire. ificionshappening in vicinity o the humidity st below 15%. that's the factor helping to drive this, along with wind from the southwest around 12 miles per hour, with gusts up to around 20 miles per hour. cal fire says the wind isn't a major concern, but it will be a problem trying to get engines towards this. they've been doing air drops and will try to keep it to its current size around 20 acres. the good news is we are looking at a big pattern change as we head into the weekend. it will still be warm tomorrow, but the area of high pressure responsible for the warm weather is moving off to the east, and a storm system is going to approach the pacific coast. that will lead to much cooler temperatures on sunday, and even a chance of showers late in the day, especially north of the golden gate. let's check

here's a time lapse showing the smoke it's between watsonville and morgan hill, right above hazel dell road. it's near highway one 52 that's the biggest thoroughfare in the area in the mounted on a region thick black smoke and some light smoke could be seen rising high into the sky cal fire czu sending equipment aircraft to try to get this thing contained so 150 acres have burned. cal fire says it started again because of a scheduled prescribed burn an intentional fire that cal fire set to try to reduce fuel in the area. good news tonight. the fire, they say has died down and the later evening hours and they do have fire retardant around the entirety of the flames so they don't expect it to really take off tonight. but again, you never know crews are out there working through the night. they're hoping for the best. of course, the red cross has established an evacuation center. it's at the core leaders community center here. 35 browns valley road in corley dose which is north of watsonville, but certainly some tense times tonight in santa cruz county catharine pam, back to you. thank yo

it is a slow ride out of san martin into morgan hill.tion of the road way but the bad news is we are seeing slow speeds clocking in about 11 miles per hour in some spots. that is slow and go as you work north bound, give yourself 25 minutes san martin into san jose. if you are headed to highway 17 south near santa cruz avenue we have reports of a crash blocking at least the number two lane from the left. noncommute direction but even so we have a few brake lights in the area because of that. the rest of your travel times look good. if you are headed through burling game, there is still a closure in place on 82, el camino real. this was due to a deadly crash overnight. the investigation is still underway. there is still a lot of activity in and around the area. avoid it if you can. the freeway is looking okay so if you want to skip and use 101, that might be a good choice. along highway 4 it's busy, first reports of a crash not far from the antioch area. once you are past that things are sluggish into bay point. it looks better approachin
