nbc bay area's bob redell is joining us live from morgan hill. i know supporters of the victim's family had a message for the man accused. harry goularte. but goularte didn't show up. >> no. harry eugene goularte showed up virtually instead, much to the dismay of the family and friends of his alleged victim. about 25 or 30 of them standing outside santa clara county superior court behind me in morgan hill this morning, waiting for goularte to show up. they had signs expressing exactly how they feel about goularte and they're angry that he's not in jail. he faces felony charges of molesting a young family member of cain velasquez. now he is an mma fight here is in jail for allegedly trying to kill goularte while goularte is at home with a monitoring bracelet. he appeared via windows teams for his 9:00 a.m. hearing this morning. his attorney and the prosecution agreed to continue the plea hearing until june 6th so the defense has more time to review the evidence. goularte's attorney said his client did not show up to court because he was afraid for

morgan hill managed to drop down into the 30s at one point 39 degrees in morgan hill.san jose 73. morgan hill 75 and into the interior valley, concord 76. pleasanton 4, upper 60s around oakland and hayward, the fremont area as well. low 70s through there. san mateo 66, if you're in san francisco it's going to be windy on and off throughout the afternoon even into saturday as well. low 60s in through mission and up through the north bay 71. in novato, santa rosa 73. here is a look at satellite radar, what's keeping us sort of dry and also comfortable with sunny skies has been high pressure that's been dominating in our forecast. we have a system that's going to pass to our north, but as that dry cold front system that's actually brought us some of the wind the past few days, passes through, we're not really expecting any rain out of this, maybe a chance of drizzle on monday but the model runs are showing that system staying pretty far north. so far rain chances, we're kind of staying tuned long, long range outlook maybe into mid-may we could have another storm making it

morgan hill may barely see a sprinkle. the first system is coming through with mainly a north bay impact. friday, it's cloudy but we see the next round of rain coming in on saturday. everyone is keeping an eye on the sunday forecast, if it's going to be nice and sunny for the egg hunt, and it looks good. next week we see more rain in the forecast. for the sierra this weekend, heads-up it's going to be really tricky getting there, and we could see up to 39 inches of snow. that would be a great late-season boost. looking at our temperatures, still cooler than normal for the next couple of days and then we're back to more seasonable weather for friday. saturday is when the rain comes in. sunday we're starting to warm up a few more degrees. 70 and sunny. i think it's perfect. i don't know if it gets any better than that. how is it looking for the commute? >> i've been keeping a close eye on our bridges and chp has issued a wind advisory for our bridges. i was talking to kari about it. it is still windy. be careful on the bridg

heading up to 88 degrees in morgan hill. novato reaching 84. san francisco in the upper 70s, but we're looking at low 80s for tomorrow there in the city and our inland valleys reaching as high as 94 degrees. really hot for this time of year. we'll talk about a weekend cooldown coming up in a few minutes. mike, where can we find the cheapest gas? >> i just happen to be tracking that. we'll start in the north bay, napa, $5.65, the cheapest you'll find at speedway express, on silverado trail. in hayward it's at $5.59 at the 76 gas station. 898 a street. in gilroy, the cheapest gas will be at costco for $5.19 a gallon. if you're in any of those cities, these are the bargains we've found. getting out to the bay bridge, we're going to be burning more gas waiting now because the metering lights were turned on about a half hour ago. it's taken about a half hour to fill in the toll plaza. the changes will be more quick as far as the volume goes, changing a lot through the contra costa county drive, highway 4, 37 at the top. there's a disabled vehicle on

warmest place today, morgan hill toward gilroy, low 70s, upper 60s around the tri-valley. but staying likely in the upper 50s near san francisco. a pretty good west wind today. low 60s over toward oakland. so the next chance of rain coming up as we head toward monday evening, 7:00, we begin to see some light rain showers approaching the bay area and really the main event for this next weather system will be about 11:00 to midnight tuesday morning to about 6:00 a.m. around the south bay. and you can see there's really not a whole lot there. this weather system will likely bring about a quarter inch or less, and it now looks like most of tuesday will be dry, other than those very early-morning showers, which should start to leave around sunrise on tuesday. but more significant rain is just around the corner. as we head into wednesday, better-looking system that will bring maybe about a half inch of rain or so toward the north bay. thursday looks to be the biggest in the series. this will have more rain and obviously more wind, too, as that rolls on through into friday mornin

. >> "today in the bay's" bob redell joins us live from morgan hill. the man he allegedly tried to kill will be in goularte is facing felony charges of he's expected to enter a plea in the building behind me at 9:00. we're outside santa clara county superior court in morgan hill. he's 43 years old. he's been out on bail since february with the condition that he stay at his home in morgan hill with an electronic monitoring bracelet and the understanding he's not allowed within 100 yards of any child under the age of 14. goularte is accused of molesting a young family member of cain velasquez, a well-known mma fighter. in late february velasquez allegedly fired a gun into a truck carrying goularte and hit his 63-year-old stepfather, who survived. velasquez was back in court yesterday. dozens of his supporters crowded the courtroom. >> when you have a family, that's your support. i probably would have done the same thing. i'm a father. i have kids. >> reporter: for the first time since his arrest, velasquez posted a message to his fans on twitter. he than

morgan hill, 74. so aside from some early-morning patchy fog, we are going to see that burn out. and then, we head into a big warmer we have got this ridge of high pressure that is really going to dominate taking over starting, you know, the wednesday/thursday mark. we are going to really heat up. i did of course tell you we had looked at the sierra snowpack and unfortunately, you know, only two years during the past ten years we have finished above 100%. and while as you all know we haven't deposit much rain or winter storms, so this is not one of those years. so, as far as your seven-day forecast goes, here is a closer look at when that big warm-up shapes out. so, 70s. upper 70s for san francisco, which if you are from here or you're not, that is warm for the city. regardless of how you think of it. you know, if you are going to be heading out there, but if you are going to be in any inland areas, concord, san jose, you know, in through morgan hill, any of those spots, 90 degrees by thursday. yeah. it's going to get hot out there. >> right into summer. >> exactly. >> just for a

as we take a look at morgan hill, upper 80s, still really warm. then take a look at how much colder it's going to be on monday. reaching 54 for a high temperature. but it does come back to spring by the middle to end of the week, and as we take a closer look at inland temperatures we go from 80 today to low 60s by monday. big swing. mike, are you seeing any changes like that on the bay bridge? >> no major big swings. we are seeing a little change. you notice the cars, they're not slowing for the name, they're slowing because there's a backup after the toll plaza. the metering lights weren't registering when i looked a few minutes ago. the typical pattern typically lighter than your monday through thursday, for your friday commute. highway 37 shows a little build and so does highway 4. we noticed there may be an incident on the approach, similar spot to yesterday, but hopefully not as big of a crash. we had problems out of antioch. a little build out of the altamont pass. no major issues, still basically under 20 minutes through discovery bay. the

morgan hill 75. bay, we're going to reach potentially some low 80s, maybe not today but into saturday and sunday look around the peninsula, upper 60s san mateo, 66. if you're in the city, mid-60s today. again, it is windy right now. 'going to pretty much stay that way around the coastline all day long. clearlake 72 and satellite radar paints the picture of the high pressure. today windy around the coast but rain chances we're still just hanging out and staying tuned. headed into sunday and monday we have a system that passes to our north, not expecting any real rain but we might get some early morning drizzle heading into early monday morning and also wind will pick up again and our temperatures will cool off. the drop in temperatures go from 80s back down into the low 70s and we warm right back up as soon as that system passes through the region. now let's see how the roads are doing with mike. >> vianey, it's friday morning. we expect a later start to the build and things are moving smoothly and li

morgan hill, 76. san francisco, upper 60s, 67, 68 degrees.tart in the 50s, but by the afternoon upper 60s. noum, the reason we are under a microclimate weather alert is because of the wind advisories and red flag warning that are not common for the month of april. we're supposed to be seeing a ton of rain, we haven't gotten that. from our perspective, according to the national weather service the last time we had advisories like this in the month of april was in 2013. this is first time for solano county. we expect gusts 35 to 50-plus miles per hour. this will bring elevated fire danger because it is so dry out there. look at the relative humidity. typically we see a nice recovery overnight. anything above 40% is pretty good. but if you notice by the afternoon at 1:30 we see some areas fall less than double digits when it comes to the humidity. so bone dry in through parts of concord, livermore at 8 percent humidity. then it sort of continues and carries on into sunday when we start to see the winds pick up. that combination of the two items
