it touched down in morgan hill in tennessee. that's outside of knoxville.tims are a mother and daughter who lived in the same house. three people were also hurt. they are expected to survive. first responders are continuing search and rescue operations this morning. and new details are emerging about a possible case of the deadly eaton fire. cause of the eaton fire in altadena. according to a regulatory filing, an old unused electrical circuit in eaton canyon may have had a hand in starting it. our investigative unit has obtained new cell phone video that captures the early moments of the eaton canyon fire, showing the flames around the base of a hillside electrical tower. that power line has been decommissioned, meaning the tower was out of service with no power. southern california edison tells state regulators it is exploring the possibility that the line somehow was energized. that fire killed 17 people and burned more than 14,000 acres. it is 647 new details this morning in a new lawsuit filed in response to the recent fire at the moss landing battery

we'll see 50s here across santa rosa, 56 in martinez, also some mid 50s in palo alto and 57 for morgan hill. the sierra will get some additional snowfall tonight and tomorrow. we're looking at anywhere from two to about eight inches here through some of the highest elevations. on that 7-day forecast we are dry. so nice to see that sunshine as we head into saturday and sunday. we all need it. also some dry weather on monday's forecast. and then we're looking at what could be a system next wednesday and thursday. there are two scenarios with this. one of them has it hitting southern california with the strongest rain that could bever three inches, and we'd be somewhere in between maybe a half to about 1.5in. so we're closely watching that storm system next thursday for significant rainfall in california, as we've been mentioning, if it does trend toward southern california, which it's looking like right now, that certainly could cause some big time flooding and landslides issues in those fire burn scars. so we're going to be we're going to be all over that with some big numbers. thank you jef

possibly get over four inches of rainfall, but we're still looking at some high rainfall totals for morgan hille areas that are still abnormally dry and running some rainfall deficits. we are going to see the highest rainfall there for the north bay, about two to 2.5in of rainfall before we make it to the weekend. so with the ground already saturated, there is now the concern of floods. so there is a flood watch in effect for the north bay, the peninsula and into the inner bay, as well as the east bay. after that, we are going to see a little bit of a break on saturday. there's just really one good day of a break from all of the rainfall. and then by sunday evening another round comes in. so we are also going to see once again some heavy sierra snow, anywhere from 24 to possibly 51in of snow, with it coming down in a short period of time. you will have to be very careful if you are traveling to the sierra, or possibly alter the plans until the snow is done, which will be this weekend as the bay area gets a break from the rain as well. back to you. all right, kerry. thank you. hey, and don't for

and we are also seeing that rain picking up from morgan hill to gilroy, and we just had so much in the north bay, we're at a surplus. even before this storm of 13in, we've already gotten our yearly rainfall. we've surpassed that. and that's the reason why we've had so many flooding issues in the north bay. but we are still running some deficits south of san francisco, as well as the east bay into the south bay. so we're watching out for that potential of some landslides as we get all of that rainfall absorbed in the soil in the north bay and some of the steep, steep areas that multiple days that we've had of this soaking rain causes the runoff. and then eventually that absorption layer just stops at the rock layer, and then everything on top can just slide down. so we're not only watching out for the possibility of some landslides, but also those rising creeks and rivers, and for santa rosa, where we've already had that big surplus of rain. the rain just continues into today. it may not be until tomorrow or later on this evening when we start to see the rain easing up, but still a chan
