it was morgan spurlock. the winner was john ford from mount airy in north carolina.uge victory against federal wildlife officials. the officials were protecting this particular rodent. the prairie dog, over their right to build an open businesses. an attorney that helped them do that is jonathan wood. he's with the pacific legal foundation and joins us today from sacramento. good morning to you. >> good morning. >> okay. so the prairie dog has been protected for 40 years. and they did that why? >> the prairie dog was at one point nearing extinction because of government efforts to exterminate it. but for the past 40 years, it has been regulated and private citizens have suffered under this regulation. they've been unable to build their dream homes. they've been unable to start small businesses. the local government has been able to protect the local sports field where children play, the airport, or the local cemetery. >> so the government stepped in, they gave the prairie dog protected status and how did that impact land owners and businesses and stuff like that? >>
