. >>> we begin our show with dash cam video of a car chase that happened in morgantown, north carolina. you see a 1998 toyota corolla and you see an officer kind of knocking on the window, trying to get the woman's attention. instead of complying with officer's orders this is what happens instead. >> see ya. >> wow. >> are you kidding me? >> she backs into the officer's car and takes off. she begins a high-speed chase that goes on for ten miles at speeds of nearly 80 miles per hour. the woman driving the vehicle is 28-year-old alexandria hoffman. earlier in the day she was being served incompetency papers by the burkes county sheriff's department. these papers were filed by her sister, basically they were trying to declare her incompetent to take care of her own affairs. >> oh, my goodness. >> she seems pretty competent to me, at least at evading police. >> >> watch what happens as she tries to get on the highway. >> she turns on her blinker. >> she signals. >> she's competent. >> didn't want to get a ticket after all this. >> this officer continues to pursue her, you see her tire come

there is more snow we are tracking with the radar and you can kind of see this line south of morgantownnd garret. if this continues on its track it looks like it'll skirt south of the baltimore area. you know not out of the question that some of that could begin to reach in our direction. nothing here right now. just ground cover and look at the temperatures, 27hagerstown. 30 easton. we are below freezing everywhere, we are at freezing in the river, below just about everywhere else and the winds have been very light today. that's been improvement. not as much wind chill factor against struggle to get above the freezing mark. there is that area of snow through the central part of west virginia. the track on this thing does take it just to the south and west. look, some of this -- the northern edge could skirt western maryland and possibly bring a few snow flurries later tonight, points mainly south of baltimore, i think most of this is going to be a concern for the state of virginia. and as we look across the east coast that's the only weather maker and it's a small one. further west, co

where right now they're getting heavy snow bands now from frostburg west and all the way toward morgantownorthern west virginia, they're going to be getting a lot of heavy snow today with blizzard-like conditions. closer to washington, we're getting a few snow showers coming down out of pennsylvania into washington county, the panhandle of west virginia. but right over washington, we've got a clear sky. sunrise at 7:27. by 9:00 near 30 degrees. only briefly near or above freezing at noontime. winds gusting to 30 miles an hour to 35 miles an hour. this afternoon there's a possibility of a passing snow shower this afternoon. then the wind should diminish tonight under a clearing sky. we'll be down in the low 20s by midnight and then the teens by dawn tomorrow. perhaps even near 10 degrees in some of the rural areas tomorrow morning. afternoon highs briefly better on thursday. may hit 50s on saturday. cloudy on sunday, near 50, chance of a few sprinkles. carol, good morning. how's traffic? >> good morning, tom. we are looking great at the moment. no problems around the area, as you can see. >

morgantown, clarksburg, a bigger area of snow to the west.hat's down to the south. that's the bulk that's going to be running over the area for late tonight and early tomorrow morning. all that moisture that's going to be coming up from the south. so here's the way it's looking. snow at 11:00. 33 degrees with freezing rain for 5:00 a.m. then probably some rain that's going to start mixing in with that freezing rain at 7:00 a.m. got another way to look at it here. the pink, the freezing rain. the white is the snow. we'll really have more hours of freezing rain than we will have snow. that's the reason we're looking for icy conditions throughout the area. same thing for 4:00 a.m. and could last just past sunrise tomorrow morning. by tomorrow afternoon you could see most is out of here but for tomorrow night a little bit of precip hanging around the area which i do not like because that means then that even saturday night may be looking a little dicey for many of us. an inch of snow to 0.1 inch of ice right through d.c. up the i-95 corridor into

because without the mountains take a look at the numbers we would be sitting at 18 in elkins, 21 in morgantown, 21 in pittsburgh. we are seeing the cold air come through but not nearly as cold as just about 100, 200 miles away. much colder there. we'll continue to see the cold air try to filter on in here. storm 4 doppler radar once again i said nothing around our region but completely different story to the north and west. pittsburgh seeing a lot of snow today. also around portions of west virginia around charleston, west virginia. they're seeing some snow in parts of ohio, all of which are way below average for snow. we are, too, but as i mentioned i don't see any snow in our forecast for quite sometime. the good news though for our ski areas, they are going to see some snow especially to the west of the allegheny front, maybe toward snowshoe seeing good snow. if you're thinking about skiing this weekend i just got off the phone with a couple ski resorts around our area including liberty and white tail. they are making snow, snow should be pretty good for this weekend if you're thinking abou

morgantown, 19. pittsburgh is only going to be 17 degrees. this cold air mass coming in on the strong gusty winds and it is going to keep things cold here today, tonight, tomorrow, and into the weekend. all due to large area of low pressure that is spreading snow from the great lakes, lake-effect snows there, into the ohio valley. pennsylvania and much of new york state is covered with snow right now. that's going to continue to rotate into new england. closer view of the radar showing the snow coming into western maryland now and parts of west virginia. this is going to create quite a bit of snowfall for the mountain region of western maryland and much of west virginia. it is only 30 degrees in gaithersburg and prince george's county. only mid 30s, mid 30s much of southern maryland. blue ridge, shenandoah valley, points into the mountains, it is only right near the freezing winds gusting. latest gusts around 30 miles per hour in the mountains locally 20 to 25. and southern maryland, some gusts there around 30. wind chills just in the teens n
